It's almost not even funny any more. It's just sad.

Watched the debate and saw this as it happened live. It was sad and yet hillarious at the same time. In a matter of day's his numbers will lilkely plunge further and he's essentially done.

I'm really amazed he's this bad in these debates which also begs the question, are the people of Texas that dumb too to keep electing him?

All I heard in this debate was remove regulations, lower taxes, Obama stinks, un-do everything Obama's done. We've had low taxes since what, 2001? And an un-regulated financial system ran recklessly wild and caused a majority of the problems. These guys are gonna need way more substance to take to the American people than this.

Mitt really comes across as a slimy used car salesman, I think he's gonna have some serious problems once people really start paying attention next Summer.

I'm embarrassed for him. !oops!

Time for him to drop out because he's just wasting everyone's time and money.

Yeah it's only funny if he was never governor of your state. While everyone was laughing I was cringing.

I said it at the beginning, no one will support Perry outside of Texas Republicans.

He will stay in as long as the money keeps coming in and trust me, the money will keep him well past the new year. With Cain walking the line, if the both of them go down, the wild eyed child will get a boost and even Newt might try to take advantage so I doubt even this will cause him to get out of the race.

Just remember, Mr. Perry has never lost an election. - A force to be dealt with...NOT.
Speaks volumes about the people who have voted for him!

I almost didnt come in here because Perry was finished when his excuse for poor debating was being tired.... too tired to debate is way to tired for the office of President.

that said I will chime in that you hit on Romney's biggest negative. He has always had this fake persona about him and he can not shake it. He will never be elected because of it. It isn't flip flopping and it isn't Mormonism. He is not likable.

You don't understand Texas politics. In Texas the Governor has just enough power to open his office door. Which is also why it's a fucking disaster if one of these guys lands in an office with real power.

It's a function of Reconstruction. Although in the last couple of decades we've imported hoards of Republicans - the institutions remain what they were by and large, that is created by people who we'd all consider Libertarian, although they were all Democrats.

We always have colorful and somewhat comical Governors - even Ann Richards whom I love to itty bitty pieces, because it doesn't really matter all that much and most of us know it. Actual executive power is diffused across various committees and offices that by and large are pretty much invisible, which is also why it's so easy to corrupt Texas politics - because no one is paying attention to the man behind the curtain.

The governors race is Primary determined - as it was when the Dems ran things, and the people who have the actual power, are all sucking Exxon's cock, and no one knows who they are.

I just came back from Dallas and was shocked by how Texas has gotten fucked up over the last ten years. At least it used to have good roads... Now even those are hopeless. An hour and forty minutes to drive twenty miles.

I still say the wildfires were God's punishment for electing Perry.

God's punishment for electing Perry was electing Perry.

Beat me to creating this thread.

It needs to be re-titled:

BREAKING: Rick Perry's Campaign Ends Before Your Eyes

Yeah, he never lost an election . . . in TEXAS. Ah, Texas, the state that gave us GWB. I'm reminded of the Molly Ivins quote:

"Next time I tell you someone from Texas should not be president of the United States, please pay attention."

This all could have been avoided if Mr. Perry had used a teleprompter.

However, the Neonazis know what kind of people need teleprompters!

Wow. It was a brain fart; this is more evidence that Perry isn't presidential material.

But then again, speaking of brain farts, Hotatlboi, you had one too. You said that Bush and Cheney aren't responsible for the deaths of thousands of Iraqis because they didn't personally order the deaths. Well, I guess Mexico is going about the war on drugs wrongs by going after the leaders of the cartels. But wait... the leaders of the cartels aren't decapitating innocent people either.
