I never liked the taste of beans.

the only beans I tolerate are green beans and wax beand

I have tried many types of beans and cooked different ways. They all taste the same the minute you bite into one

Okra happens to be very good if cooked right

If it is slimy it is way over cooked

It is like spinach can't be boiled or overcooked

I have fried it and with cheese

fried okra is pretty good

grits, I can take em or leave em
fairly tasteless

I used to put butter and sugar on them as a kid

I liked the country ham, buttermilk biscuits, and redeye gravy

I love buttermilk biscuits, and do make them

yep, buttermilk biscuits with butter and molasses

so good

my granny would make them every Sunday
and fried chicken and fried cornbread with pinto beans cooked all day on the stove

she had a pantry full of jams, jellies, preserves and homemade pickles

Fried chicken and cornbread in a cast iron pan

shortening in the cast iron skillet and heat it to smoke point

then pour the buttermilk cornbread mix in and bake it

it gets a moist crispy delicious crust that way

I can't eat this stuff anymore, I'd have a heart attack

We used lard for shortening piggy

Granny had an aluminum canister on the back of the stove that said "GREASE"



nobody had heard of cholesterol
