Hey people!

A while ago i came up with the idea of plastic surgery, and so far i've only talked about it with my straight friends (i'm not entirely out of the closet yet), who said if it really bugs me i should do it.

The thing is; there are 2 major issues i have with myself. No; 1 major and 1 minor issue.

The first one (the major one) is, i have a severe case of pectus excavatum. That means my chest grows inwards. I'll post a picture of that later on. There is a procedure for that, but it involves breaking my entire chest into pieces, holding it in place with metal plates for a few months, and waiting until it grows back into the right shape. I'm a bit scared for that.

The second (the minor) one is my ears. I have wide ears (image included). The correction for this is fairly simple, with a 2 day recovery period (at home), and a 1 year period of extra sensitivity. After that, they'll be normal again.

My actual question would be; is it worth it? Right now, i'm very much thinking that i should at least solve the first one, since it's a huge pain when i'm on the beach, with people looking at me. And i'm a little afraid that it'll be a turnoff for a future boyfriend...

Has anyone done any major surgery to get rid of deformities like these? Do you regret it? Was it worth it?

There is an old thread on PE that you might want to read through. A few of the members who had the corrective surgery talked about their experience (either the Ravitch procedure that you're talking about or the Adkin's Strut procedure).

Thanks for the link, but i'm still wondering about something?

How do people with a normal chest look at men with a sunken chest? Is it a major turnoff?

I mean, i'm quite skinny and kind of thin arms, so i don't think there's a lot to make up for it...

This is my current condition. As you can see, my 'bowl' stretches from the top of my chest to my abdomen.

Did anyone of you meet a guy with this? Did it turn you off?

If I saw you shirtless your condition would not attract my attention. In fact, I didn't know there was such as thing!

I think the first reaction is probably surprise and concern: "Wow, isn't that unhealthy? I think that looks unhealthy...Is he alright? I hope he's okay"

In reality, I understand that PE is only a health concern for some people, but others with PE can be totally healthy anyway. But that fact is not universal knowledge, and most people will see it and be distracted by it even if temporarily.

That alone is no reason to have major surgery though. Some guys will notice, and know better. Some guys will notice and get over it. Some guys will notice and be freaked out by it. (You have been born with an automatic loser repellent, so be thankful about that) And there are probably even a few guys who will fantasize about it and fetishize PE and find it sexy and want to take care of you or whatever goes on in their brains simply because your chest is a bit different.

If you have any health concerns, look at the options and weigh the risks. Even if you don't have any health concerns but you just want to get rid of it, go ahead and do it if the risks seem reasonable. I'm not against cosmetic surgery. If it bugs you and its (pardon the pun) something you'd like to get off your chest, then go for it.

Don't do it for a man though. You can find a guy either way.

BTW, your ears look very average to me. They are not what I would call "sticking out" at all.

I can see where the ears might be a concern.....

they would look silly with earring in them otherwise, if they really bug

you get your hair trimmed a little fuller on the sides.

Chest? whats wrong with the chest? No hideous man tits or gross

skin afflictions....oh...you mean the slight inward arc between your

nipples.....my god,

with a busy hot day and a little sweat

your chest and my pants would both be wet.

Someone will tongue that groove dry

or at least make the college try.

I say Dude......

I'm not crude....

You are looking so fine

You have a moderate case of PE. The sternum in children is composed of several pieces of cartilage and the cartilage eventually joins together and hardens to bone. It looks like the lower most third of your sterum is affected.

Unless there's a medical reason for the surgery, you might want to consider try a workout plan to build up your arms and chest. You have an otherwise nice physique based upon the parts that you've shown, so your body should respond well to resistance training.

When a guy sees you naked for the first time, it will look puzzling to him unless he knows someone who has PE. Most guys compare other guy's bodies to their own or other guys that they have seen. So anything unusual is interesting or puzzling or a curiosity.

But honestly- if a guy is taking your clothes off, he's probably not there to play with your chest. He'll take off your shirt, look and say, "Hmmm" but he really is more interested in what is in your pants.

It's much more noticeable to you. If it's a source of insecurity for you, then it might be easier for everyone if, when things are headed in the direction of getting naked, that you just bring up the issue of your PE, take off your shirt and let the other guy play with your chest. It's the ice-breaker and it gets rid of the uncertainty.

But don't be surprised if taking off your shirt accelerates the pace of removing the rest of your clothes.

But that's a not bad thing, either.

Kara meant...NOT a bad thing.

Damn him, he says so logically what I can only say

sideways......

You better listen up or we will send a big mirage like creature

and his boyfriend over to thrash some sense into you..

Oops- thanks for catching that- It is what I meant and I have corrected it.

Damn hay fever!

I don't suppose that could be construed as

a MOD owing me a favor?

Oh hell, but if you don't ask
You for sure won't receive ....

right :rotflmao::jab::rotflmao: right

OP -- Something to consider is wouldn't there be a huge scar if you had the chest surgery? Would you be self concious about that?

Very cool rhyming!

Hmmm.... Well i've been thinking about this... you guys did make me see this from a different way. It's 2am for me now, so i'm nog going to write a long answer, but i'm really glad you all responded. I think i'll be more comfortable now when i hook up with a guy. the surgery could only be done at least half a year from now, so i'll have plenty of time to consider.

I was having these bad scenarios in my head of a guy freaking out when we're getting frisky and he sees my chest... I just hope i'll get a response the way you guys describe it!

Actually one of the main concerns was when i'm holding someone. When i get a boyfriend, he won't be able to just lay against my chest, as its this shape :S But i guess working out should help with that. That's gonna be a bitch tough, i'm an ectomorph.

@bendtet: i actually tought about it, i just hoped the scar would turn out to look cool :P

Well you could get a bad response, from a bad guy. But I don't think so.

Usually we don't notice the same things others do about ourselves. For instance, you have nice shoulders. You might take off your shirt and be all self-conscious about your chest, and his first impression might not even be your chest because he will be busy enjoying your shoulders. When he does notice, he will probably just see it as a part of you - as a part of someone he likes. :)

And I still think your ears are very average depth. They don't stick out.

You look fine. Your ears are sexy and I'll bet you could pool up a lot of cum on your chest. I really wouldn't worry about it.

^ I'm with him....... ..|

There is NOTHING wrong with your ears.......and what else was it?.......

He said something silly about getting a scar because he thought they

were sexy. You think English might be his second language and maybe

what he meant was a tattoo?

he showed a picture with his shirt up and one big brown erect nipple, I

can't imagine a tattoo sexier than that. These young guys today....:##:(*S*):##:

One guy I dated had this, didn't realize it was a condition or whatever, but its Its way hot. He was a bottom and a hot fuck.
ANd dont mess with your ears, YOU DONT have big pointed ears or whatever. or if you do Barack obama has bigger ones so relax.
You actually have nice masculine features in terms of nose ears and forehead. Just bulk up and got to the gym if you want to fill out your chest.
But honestly, looking good, dont touch..|

Number 42, I really agree with people that there's nothing wrong with your chest or your ears. I personally consider you quite hot so really no problem with that :-)

there is nothing wrong with the problems are barely noticeable and i think you're the only one who notices them...
