Please tell me someone else is watching American Horror Story!!

I read an article saying that the producers ORIGINALLY were going to have the House as the focus, and have a new family come in, and be killed off, each season. But then, when they realized what a strong cast of actors they had on the show, they decided to change things a bit. If they kill everyone off, and start over each year, that will become dull quickly. So, I think most of this cast is on for long term.

Yeah, I don't want them switching to a new cast. D; I don't want these people to die. I like 'em.

IDK how they're going to keep the characters though. Unless they really slow the show down. That might even be worse than getting a new cast. It's a great show. I'm just not sure how they can keep it going very long at it's current pace.

they also said they were gonna have a new cast every season for Glee...maybe that's just a thing Ryan and Brad do? lol

Really love this show more every week. Great episode and I really dug the Tate & the dead Breakfast Club kids story. It was engaging and very sad all the same time. They were just as lost, and looking for answers so they could move on. Wow interesting stuff. I also liked that we have another ghost who isn't all bad in the abortion doctor's wife. With her helping Ben getting out.

Looks like we'll find out more about Tate and what happened next week.

This show and cast is awesome. I saw the first two back to back and am hooked. Can't wait to run 3 and 4.

Switching out the cast on these shows is not unreasonable. How many years can you be a Senior in high school? How many weird, fucked up, dangerous and terrifying things have to happen to you in a house before you walk?

Going to high school and singing show tunes and dancing is not a bad deal, you just can't run the cast that was in their 20's when you started and keep milkin it for 10 seasons. Most folks would be gone from the AHS house somewhere in the first half of episode 1.

From a creative / writing standpoint the haunted house and its ghosts and especially its residents run out of story lines and bad things that can happen to them pretty rapidly. Ok, so the whole thing is fantasy and entertainment. But in AHS, running it for multiple seasons would run the risk of it no longer being hot, edgy and scarey pretty fast. Unless of course, you keep creating more jack off and gay crotch grabbing (maybe combine the two?) scenes for Dylan McDermott:p. Even going to a new house and cast could be cool, as it seems a lot of us like the premise.

Also, as a new Ryan Murphy project, this has his full attention. Like his other shows, after he focuses on something new, AHS may or may not be this good.

I actually think after a season of these characters it will become dull, no matter how strong the actors. One reason is because none of them are likable (although very interesting), and if by the time these next 8 episodes are done they're still living in that house it really would be pretty lame and make little sense. Once all the secrets are out of the bag with these characters it won't be nearly as interesting. So I think maybe bringing them back next season would be just as risky as bringing on a whole new cast.

Hey, I find some of the characters likable. They all seem messed up, but they're likable.

American Horror Story

I don't want to give away too much since it is a thriller. If you haven't seen it yet, it's definitely worth a watch. One of the best shows to debut this fall.

Here's the synopsis:

American Horror Story is a horror-drama television series created and produced by Ryan Murphy and Brad Falchuk. The series centers on the Harmon family: Ben, Vivien and their daughter Violet, who move from Boston to Los Angeles after Vivien has a miscarriage and Ben has an affair. They move into a restored mansion, clearly unaware that the home is haunted.

The series premiered on October 5, 2011, and is broadcast on the cable television channel FX in the United States. On October 31, 2011, FX announced that the series had been renewed for a second season consisting of 13 episodes.

Didn't see this. I did a search and this didn't come up, odd?!

I love this show. Ryan Murphy and Brad Falchuk are an amazing combination.
They should make babies together.

Re: American Horror Story

I LOVE this show! Episode 4 with Zach Quinto was HOT!

this show is a guilty pleasure for me...

I like the fact that the rich are presented as evil and fucked up - usually the rich are celebrated on USA television...

Halloween 2 wasn't as fun as I thought it was gonna be.

Will obviously keep watching, I want to know how this ends.

I agree. I liked Halloween part 1 more.. maybe it's because it was A LOT gayer. Zach only had like two scenes in this last episode.. way too little!

Well i know i'm a bit late to the party but i just watched the pilot episode last night, it's excellent and Jessica Lange is just stunning in it.

You're going to love it. I swear there's a WTF moment in each episode.

Yeah and all the scaryness (is that a word?) and creepiness went away when I realized they were all ghosts...ghosts interacting with living people and making a mess. It felt a bit silly.

I was hooked from the first episode! Jessica Lange is outstanding ! Loved episode 4with Zachary Quinto and his partner!

you didn't know they were ghosts to start with?

I love the show, Dylan Mcdermott is hot. Jerking off and crying??? WTF!!! Jessica Lange is fabulous and Tate is cute. I don't know how I feel if they do a new family for every season. It will keep it fresh but Ben probably won't be on the show anymore. I'm still bummed that he turned down that blowjob.

Lol really? Most of the tv I watch (and don't watch, but know enough about) portray the rich as corrupt, vile, shallow, and hateful people.

And I mean a vast majority of television shows at that.

But it seems like the idea of having a new family/new storyline/different setting unrelated to the house plot seems to be getting get more attention this past week or so. In a way it makes sense, because how much can this family really take, but again feel its a strong cast all the way around.

I love the last episode. Waiting for more.
