they also said they were gonna have a new cast every season for Glee...maybe that's just a thing Ryan and Brad do? lol[/QUOTE
This show and cast is awesome. I saw the first two back to back and am hooked. Can't wait to run 3 and 4.
Switching out the cast on these shows is not unreasonable. How many years can you be a Senior in high school? How many weird, fucked up, dangerous and terrifying things have to happen to you in a house before you walk?
Going to high school and singing show tunes and dancing is not a bad deal, you just can't run the cast that was in their 20's when you started and keep milkin it for 10 seasons. Most folks would be gone from the AHS house somewhere in the first half of episode 1.
From a creative / writing standpoint the haunted house and its ghosts and especially its residents run out of story lines and bad things that can happen to them pretty rapidly. Ok, so the whole thing is fantasy and entertainment. But in AHS, running it for multiple seasons would run the risk of it no longer being hot, edgy and scarey pretty fast. Unless of course, you keep creating more jack off and gay crotch grabbing (maybe combine the two?) scenes for Dylan McDermott

. Even going to a new house and cast could be cool, as it seems a lot of us like the premise.
Also, as a new Ryan Murphy project, this has his full attention. Like his other shows, after he focuses on something new, AHS may or may not be this good.
