Political Cartoons, Memes & Amusing Videos

Of this week's collection, these were my two overall favorites, just because of the similarity between the two cartoons:

The DNC cartoon would better show Pelosi pushing Biden out. Harris did not have the muscle nor the network, nor could she be seen to be ousting her president.

Pelosi had nothing to lose, except her lifetime's work if the GOP were to put Trump back in.

She did the nation a great service by putting her weight behind the palace coup.

Cartoons don't usually reflect normal things.

It's worth remembering that the story isn't about Pelosi et al standing up. The story is about Republicans assuming the position and letting Trump fuck them over. And that it's a repeat of what he did to most of them in 2016 on his way to the nomination.

It shouldn't be about Pelosi having balls; it should be about most of the Republican Party faithful not having them.

Not sure we are talking about the same cartoon. The pic of Harris's shadow kicking Biden's is not addressed by any of that. Depicting her as pushing Biden out is just silly. She had not the political clout. It was all Pelosi and the senior senators making it plain Biden had already lost his chance. THEY accomplished the change, not Harris.

Maybe not just them. Among the civil rights organizations, there absolutely are some who do see their cause as anti-white.

And, to some degree, if the assertion is that all racism is institutional, as some modern sociologists have argued, then the assertion of black rights is inherently anti-white when the majority power holders in the US have been white.

One of the dilemmas of our pluralistic society at this time is that there are both movements that posit that ALL whites owe minorities an apology, and/or restitution, and the opposing view that a citizen does not have to apologize for his ancestors' acts. Whereas some groups have argued that a racist faction has refused to acknowledge that they lost the Civil War, it certainly seems just as true that another faction every day argues that the Civil War is not over and that they are still seeking war concessions.

Neither side in those positions wants a united country as much as they want vengeance.
