If so, isn't Al Green just going to consider it a badge of honor for his resistance? He'll frame the censure, put it on the wall in his office and then make a lapel button copy of it and wear it every day on the floor of the House?

Perhaps but I think that all of the Democrats should have been shouting during that speech and disrupting the proceedings. They are trying to take the high road and show that they are different from the Republicans and it is getting them nowhere. Just lost elections. Only Al Green was brave enough to speak up, to shout. Its time for a revolution from the Democrats and for that to happen they are going to have to be willing to sacrifice their offices instead of playing it safe.

I watched that part of the speech. Rep Green was calling out Trump over Medicaid cuts. It probably wasn't the venue but Rep Green wasn't over-the-top or violent. When the Sgt-At-Arms asked him to leave, he left.

Any member voting to censure a member of Congress for exercising free speech should be called out- Democratic, Republican or Independent. It's why our Constitution has a "speech and debate clause" in (Article I, Section 6, Clause 1). It's why Biden and Obama didn't retaliate against Boebert, MTG or any of the Republicans who heckled their State of the Union speeches.

Members have three options, technically four options, for voting - yea, nay, present not voting or not present. If a Democrat felt that Rep Green's behavior was wrong could have voted "present not voting" or just abstained from voting.

Well, Canadians know that we can't depend on the US as an ally any more.

I'm all for nuclear deterrence at this point.

And since Canada now shares a land border with Europe...why not move some French or British warheads here?
 
You really do not want any nuclear warheads on your soil. A land based nuke becomes a first strike priority for Russia. All ours are on submarines so the enemy never knows exactly where they are. Most of the French firepower is on subs too, only the small weapons are on planes, always moved around. None are land based any more, that is asking for trouble. Whether your enemy is far away or next door.

The route to go is the Smart Bombs.

You stockpile enough to carpet bomb the US, and then, when the need arises, you drop 'em.

Unless I'm SORELY mistaken, they work like neutron bombs, and wipe out all the stupid people, leaving only the smart ones to survive, amiritte?

I am thinking that we are likely more concerned about a nuclear strike by the US than rrrzzzxia at this point.

So if we position all of our warheads along the borders, or in silos across southern Ontario, we could at least have the satisfaction pf knowing that the nuclear fallout would sweep across the adjacent US states as well.
