Now that's a good one -- Congress has spent far too much time playing games instead of actually working. This applies to the roe v Wade decision too: at the time of the ruling at least one justice told Congress that it should act legislatively, because they knew the decision was on shaky ground; legislation would have firmed it up considerably.

I liked it, too.

Earlier this week, there was a PBS Nova episode on about the James Webb telescope and they showed a few minutes from a circa 2012 Senate hearing when Sen Barbara Mikulski (D-MD) was the Chair of Appropriations. She was holding a hearing about the cost overruns on the project and was grilling the NASA administrator about the poor stewardship of the finances.

It was nice to see a working Congress again, instead of the current "our job is to do as little as possible" Senate.
