Sadly, I've known too many people who've gotten an education and still qualify as "stupid motherfuckers".

Exactly: goody leftist "Rousseaunian" ideals assume people are basically good and reasonable, while they are actually more or less wilder or milder Yahoos with a coating of "civilization" and "education"... Wait until the situation gets really bad... It will make WWII times pale as meek and demure. Those who read Lakoff's "The political mind" and such may have STARTED realising all that some time ago.

Education at least increases the odds that a person will be capable of coherent and logical thought, and able to analyze situations, though.

"The odds"... education does not play dice: again, it just coats wild yahoos with an appearance of reasonability, or wins over milder yahoos who would follow whatever they are told.
Again, intelligence fosters education and civilization, not the other way round: those who are intelligent are already educated, and will search to keep improving that condition, in themselves and around them as much as it is in their power to acheive.

Normal is what is actually found, that which had always been ignored, and now is pissing around everywhere.

It's what America was like when I was first able to register to vote. Back then they used to put the Republican booth and Democrat booth at the county fair right across an aisle from each other; now they put them in different buildings.

Besides which, it's normal now by your measure: the MAGA cult comprises less than one-eighth of all those eligible to vote -- there are more people who don't bother to register and/or vote than there are MAGA loyalists.

We need a law that requires everyone to cast a ballot, and ranked voting.

^ You mean like in all those bananacountries in which "democracy" needs to be forced in order to be enforced.

I have said more than once, also in this site, that the movers-and-shakers are always a vast minority, whether enlightened revolutionaries or magan punks.
