Sadly, I was not able to cast a vote for this woman. The districts here are outrageously gerrymandered.

It should be also noted that Ms. Lands won in a special election because her predecessor LIED about his residence, so was unqualified to serve in that district, and voted illegally, a poster child for the GOP's election fraud rantings, but an UNO reverse. And, her GOP opponent on the ballot aired a commercial that looked idiotic. It was literally him making bloopers as he tried to record the commercial, the clear implication that he could not lose and was just a good ole boy, not comfortable with making fancy commercials to win votes. Moron.
But, this sort of protest vote doesn't turn the tide in Alabama necessarily. A similar ballot elected Doug Jones when the GOP candidate was the disgraced Roy Moore, whom the entire state knew had affairs while claiming to give a damn about the Ten Commandments.
I beileve this vote is a similar rebuke of the idiots running the state. They paid the money to ban abortion and then support a case where the Court declared embryos as citizens. That was almost forgivable, since the average IQ in the state is infantile, but that's a different story. Now, the state is in full panic mode, not so much because they are the laughing stock of the nation and world, but because the moneyed class are the ones most affected by the IVF ban, plus the outcome runs counter to the "I Love Family" mantra of the right.
I intend to find where Lands practices her counseling today and send congratulatory flowers. Light a candle.
Hope the women of the state whip some asses in the fall election by trouncing Trump, but I doubt it.
