The Constitution was written precisely to control somebody like Trump. The United States had recently separated from the rule of King George III, and feared the unlimited power that he and other kings and autocrats in Europe wielded, and they wanted to prevent the unilateral exercise such a person could have in this country.

All three branches of government have failed their Constitutional duty to hold Trump accountable to the rule of law.
If just one branch had done their timely duty, Trump would be in jail or in exile sitting in Mar-A-Lago right now, as he should be.
