Political Cartoons, Memes & Amusing Videos

One of the reasons I'm so bummed out by all of this is because I was a premature baby that weighed 2lbs. 2oz. at birth and was not expected to live.
My parents hadn't even decided a name for me at the time.
My mom wanted me baptized/christened and it was a Canadian doctor/chaplain at the base hospital that gave little Johan his names.

The Wankpanzer is the Swastikar Truck that is not considered roadworthy in most countries. You chart does not include them.

Slow the fuck down and breathe.

I didn't make the meme. I just pass it on. I get the point. It should have said Tesla Deploreans. And who knows, maybe the CCP will let people in China drive them...don't know. Don't care.
Then you published a lie.

The meme said Teslas were banned everywhere else. It's just as false as any meme that claimed Biden was a pedophile.

Exaggeration for humor is funny. Spreading a lie is sinking to the tactics everyone espouses are the domain of the far right.

Everyone lying is not winning.

I wish Canada would do something radical like withdraw their ambassador, reject U.S. dollars, or introduce some resolution in the U.N. that is anti-American to drive home the point. Trump is going to have to have his nose rubbed in it before he stops shitting on everything.

Trump's regime needs to burst into flames. From the whimper of Congress or the courts, it's apparently all going to have to fail before any phoenix rises.

To be sure, Canada is not our enemy, but if we put her on the back foot, she is correct to assess us as one. I can see France, Germany, Great Britain, Canada, and the Scandinavians deciding to revisit NATO if this nonsense continues for long. They can for a coalition that is not Ameri-centric and be a large enough block to still not be victim to Putin. Hell, India might even ally with Europe if the U.S. is not the swinging dick in the room.

If this is America in the 21st century, let it sink beneath the waves. We don't need foreign aggressors when we are at war with ourselves, perpetually.

The US poses an existential threat to our sovereignty, security, safety and well being.

And America and Americans are now much more widely regarded as not exactly enemies...but certainly not good or dependable friends either.

We saw the dangers to world order and peace if Trump was re-elected. We got a taste of it in his first term.

But for better or worse, we are inextricably bound to our neighbour through integrated industries, investments, families and a dwindling set of shared values.

We know that Trump is going to ruin NATO if he can't pull the US out or get all the other partner countries to only buy US munitions and equipment. He has tried already.

UN resolutions are meaningless because the UN itself is meaningless now. Only yesterday, Trump has pulled the US out of the Human Rights Commission. Next he will refuse to pay the US dues and remove the US from even more UN based initiatives.

Trump and President Musk are determined to pursue an isolationist, aggressive, Manifest Destiny policy.

Americans will do nothing to stop them. American politicians are doing nothing to stop them.

But a nihilist approach to 'burn it all down' means that evil has already won. And there's no magical rebirth from the ashes of a lost democracy. Instead, Americans and the world will adapt to a new era of corporate fascism and autocracy in the US. Canada and Greenland would fold within days to a military assault because we know that the US would not hesitate to bomb us to glass to steal the resources the oligarchs want under their control.

The real irony of all of this though?

The destruction of the consumer middle and lower classes will also be the destruction of the economy. And it will be the destruction of the world economy that may see the overthrow of the tyrants.

Yeah, here we go again. Advocating for a scorched earth policy of death, desolation, and destruction. Somehow that fixes everything.

The US has, over the past 250 or so years, done it's fair share of odious things... just like every other nation. What changed is the motivation. After WWII, the American nation was so horrified by the mess of two World Wars that it became focused on preventing it from happening again. As the famous saying (falsely attributed to Churchill) goes, "Americans can always be trusted to do the right thing, once all other possibilities have been exhausted." Americans might fuck things up but at least they have good intentions. Or they had good intentions.

What is happening now is what I've seen before: a coup and the substitution of an autocrat who is trying to create an illiberal democracy. And he's not doing it with a majority of Americans behind him but instead, with the complicity of the Congress.

What we haven't seen since the second World War is America mimicking second tier "democracies" like Hungary, Turkey and Russia. The idea was that the US always led and brought other friendly democracies with us. This is new. Hurting friends is new. Taking an un-Christian attitude toward the hungry, poor and infirm is new. Siding with awful despots is familiar but in the past, it wasn't done while screwing over democratic leaders in other countries.

The pendulum will likely swing back, although I think we're about to revisit the 1930s and the 1970s with a lot of overreach followed by political unrest, student revolts and probably a few assassinations. The question in my mind is whether this wasted 4 (and possibly up to 8) lost years is where China becomes the world's superpower.

There's another saying: "A true friend is someone who knows you well but still likes you." When this is all done, we'll have to see if our former friends still like us. Or whether we're making a new generation of countries like Iran and Afghanistan.

Always past predicts the present because instead of 'Never Again' it is always...let's take another crack at it.

And pretty much, that is all that radical Islamists, the Kremlin and China have to do. Just sit back and watch.
