On the more serious side...while many people in the United States believe that the bases are kept as a kind of socialist boon to Europe, the reality is that the US naval fleet and its Air Force rely on having these bases for re-fueling and re-staffing their surveillance and defensive forces occupied with protecting US interests. This also goes for the Middle East.

Keep you eye on what happens with the Middle East.

Rzzzia has for the time being lost its base in Syria and Trump's plan for GAZA isn't only about a Trump hotel there.

The US likely realizes that its real interests are about oil. They don't care what happens to Europe or whether rrrZZia invades it or not...they want to secure the middle east oil and are looking for a base of ops not totally dependent on the Sauds or the UAE.

I imagine that while Canadians have certainly cancelled most of their bookings like we and our friends have...the Europeans are likely on line or on the phone today cancelling theirs.

And to be honest, I wouldn't be too quick, if i was an American, to be thinking about travelling outside of Bumfuck, Idaho...because Canada and Europe don't want to see you.

We have just let our dearest American friends know that their visit here is off...not because they are MAGAt asswipes, but because the climate has changed so much we don't want to have an entire visit spent on therapy for them or exposing them to any issues when they visit.

The US is an oil exporter. We are currently producing more energy than we consume. The whole "drill baby, drill" thing isn't because we're short on oil. It's because Trump made a bunch of deregulation promises to oil companies in exchange for big donations to save his ass from prison.
