Political Cartoons, Memes & Amusing Videos

What seems to be overtalked in the background is how we got here.

The Congress and the President together, both parties, have for decades delivered less and less and less to the American people, pandering to lobbyists and corrupt corporate interests.

Sure, the right and the left throw some token social cause bone to their side from time to time, but meanwhile the conspiracy of inaction goes on and on and on.

IF the Democrats rebound and DO NOT reform the unchecked presidential power we are currently witnessing, then we need the whole thing to burn down.

Never again should we see so much open corruption prevail, so much foreign policy violently enacted against the interests of the people, and so much laughing at the rule of law by the executive branch.

The nation is so divided that there is no chance of getting a Constituttional amendment to clarify UNLESS we see real collapse and martial law result during this run with Trump and Vance. That might actually get the nation scared enough to do it.

There is a difference between raising strong opposition to Trump and a liberal version of Trump. We can be staunchly pro-Constitution without stooping to his name-calling, without becoming mean-spirited, without being vindictive and vengeful.
This is why the Democrats lost the election. They were too nice and proper and respectable.

I am not looking for a left-wing autocrat, just someone who is loud and says what we all are feeling and tells it like it is. Someone who can stand up to the name calling and if necessary, return it tit for tat. I think we are going to have to shout out very loudly and impolitely that the emperor has no clothes because half of our voters just can't see that.

I don't think we disagree then, although I think the election was lost because Biden was unfit and Harris unproven and 2nd tier.

Political rhetoric is not the same as name-calling. "Pocahontas" is name-calling. Forcefully attacking the corruption and illegal acts of the GOP is not.

Yes, the Democrats need a warrior. And he or she must have enough sense of where the center of the electorate is to not play too far left, as that simply pushes the center to the right instead of winning them over.

The reasons why Democrats lost the Presidential election are legion.

One of the biggest problems with the Democrats is that they consider "the election" to be the Presidential election. If they would have held the Senate and won a couple more House seats, we wouldn't be where we are.

We don't see these brands, but Americans should know what to do. Raise Hell.
Boycott the brands and tell them why.

^^ Peet's coffee is really expensive. I bought some a few months ago when it was on sale. Honestly, it wasn't any better than other coffees. I've never heard of the other brands.
I've been buying Barissimo Coffee which I like a lot. Barissimo coffee comes from Germany. I get it at Aldi at half the price Amazon tries to rip you off for, and it is the exact same thing.
Barissimo is sourced from Guatemala, Colombia, or Sumatra.

Do you have Aldi in Canada?

Only one that I am aware of:

Loblaw and Sobeys control the major share 60% of the grocery market in Canada. I don't believe either of them have a Salvadoran coffee, but I have made a note to check the next time we shop.

These are probably better to boycott loudly. The coffee growers are often the poorer people, particularly the organic growers. A coffee boycott just hurts the poorer people, not the government.

If they want to hurt the government, Congress could be looking through the budget and finding international aid programs (particularly military) that they could suspend until those men are returned. Bukele's trolling of Congress needs to be punished quickly.

But Congress is complicit in all of this.

A lot of them are probably totally on-side with this.

Including, based on their stunning silence on the matter, a lot of Democrats.

They aren't even paying lip service to this because they are afraid it will be used against them as being soft on terror in the 2026 elections.

There were plenty of loud people saying what we were all feeling, including Biden, Obama, Kamala, Hillary, who started 12 years ago, and Bernie, who's been at it for decades. The list goes on and on. The problem is that people ridiculed them or didn't listen. Policy warnings, no matter how dire, don't make Rupert billions of dollars, and lazy people who got complacent would rather masturbate themselves and vote their hate than be bothered to think.

The Democrats lost because all the good they were doing was never publicized or seen. Half of that is their fault, and half of that is ours.

So when we start laying blame for Toad, start by asking OURSELVES what we were doing to stop this madness? Complaining on the internet? Or out there volunteering, donating time and resources? Registering new voters where legal? Driving the infirm to the poils? Passing out water and sandwiches to voters in interminable lines? What did we do to stop it?

WHAT was our individual part in stopping this trainwreck?

If we want to end it, that is where the solution begins.

No, they're clearly on record selling more arms to Israel, so they aren't ashamed of supporting terrorists.
