I don't think the pacman simile is accurate.
Taking an anthelmintic (deworming remedy) can very occasionally provoke a dormant yet live cyst to develop further, which can be fatal. Mostly the cysts die with no harm done.


Cats can carry toxoplasmosis, which is largely not dangerous to humans but is risky for pregnant mothers.

Our biology teacher described them (in '89?) as Pacmen eating their way through our brains.

What's that terrible parasite cats have that you can die of? Does the dormant form make you more susceptible to becoming a cat person?
