Do we really need 2 of the same argument threads at the same time?

I am proud of who I am...and I am gay. Being gay does not define me but it is definitely a part of the whole.

I think "straight acting" is silly. It implies ALOT of things. I don't care if anyone uses it but since I met my guys in person all the time I would just laugh if one of them told me he was "straight acting". Uhhh...OOOOOKKKKKKKKKKKKAAAAAAAAAYYYYYYYYYYYYY See ya.

If I want to be oppressed by someone else I at least want to be properly entertained by the whole thing...or make it interesting.

(PS...I am not really feminine in looks or actions so I am not talking as a feminine guy...I am speaking as a gay man)

Following yet another heated debate/discussion/argument/fight about the term straight-acting, how do you feel about the use of the term?

This poll is intended to provide some involvement from a wider group of Jubbers that don't necessarily engage in the same forums or to the same extent as more prolific posters, as well as those latter ones. I personally think it would be helpful to see how JUB may view the term, to at least get an idea of just how much of or little an issue it may actually be. Are self proclaimed straight acting gay guys in an incredibly small minority? Are those offended by the term over-reacting?

"Straight Acting" "Gay Pretending" etc, etc. It is all BS! You are who you are....

A better question should be "Should the term "Straight-Acting" be used to describe masculine subcultures of the LGBT community such as bears?" Because I believe that's what it all boils down to in the end.

I took the measure of consulting a moderator prior to posting this thread. This thread is not meant for a continuation of the CGYMIKE thread. It is a poll and not a general discussion. Hopefully members will respect that this is a poll and not a debate, leaving the aforementioned thread and this to be relative but not a merge in waiting.

Suck it! Suck it good! Go peni.....!

It's a slightly different issue on a subtle difference. Your situation asks about its use in reference to a widespread label. The other thread was almost entirely about its use in self-identification or self-perception, such as in the case of describing one's self in the limited space of a personal ad or app.

I just act like me, I have some feminine qualities as well as male. I have been told that I cross my legs like a woman, I enjoy being sensitive and I get tears in my eyes real easy.
The other day I was telling a co worker about some cookies I had bought, I got excited and said "oh, my god! Another worker heard me and asked if "they were to die for"
We all had a laugh, I am gay, it will show up in my demeanor.

Are bears necessarily masculine? Straight-acting is generally a descriptor of behavioral traits rather than physical ones.

Straight acting, gay acting, acting? .... just act the way most comfortable to you...

Sort of between. I don't object to it, and I've had others use it to describe me, but it's not a term I use to describe myself now.

God forbid we make our mothers happy... I say - suck it! Suck it thick and juicy..... suck it well..... suck your uncle!

I find it to be a nonsensical term but its' usage by others doesn't bother me.

Don't like it, people seem to use it to separate themselves from others. Which I don't see a point in doing at all.

Insufficient variety of questions, perhaps showing bias--a common issue with surveys.

There should have also been:

I don't object to it, and I identify as straight acting.

I approve of it, and I identify as straight acting.

Gurl friend ain't got time for shade. Let in some light! Glorious glorious rays of light and happiness!
