Oh come on. You can do better than that.
When you're appointing yourself an expert on who people really are and what parts they're hiding from, it's the response deserved.

K, tell me more about who I am.
Pick a position. Are you or are you not one who uses this term?
And yeah, sucks when someone presumes to know better than you what's in your head. Doesn't mean they're necessarily wrong. Tx is right that gay people share an AWFUL lot of experiences. Some people see the patterns better than others.

There's also huge commonalities to growing up male, or growing up this race or that race, this religion or that one, this nationality or that one.
Btw I tell non-American friends "I'm not a typical American" when they seem really sheepish to voice criticism about George Bush or something. Sure, conservatives would say that's me ashamed of being American, but it's not.
Neither is what you're saying the case.
You're someone arguing for arguments sake - because you enjoy it, probably also someone who is still working this stuff out in your own head.
Look, there isn't just out and closet, coming out is a process. While I was calling myself SA I said and did all the shit Mitchy is trying to pull, I wasn't out at work, and "didn't advertise" and all the rest of the justifications.
Sorry if you don't like it, but you are not just that unique that none of this could ever possibly apply to you, because there is no such thing as common experience.
Cop Out.

When an argument is silly, it deserves to be pointed out.
Seriously? You compare growing up in a very specific minority with unique circumstances nobody else shares, to growing up in a nation it's or a gender?
Unlike yourself and Tx-Beau, being gay is neither my first nor only experience in being a minority, nor the only thing that fundamentally shaped my "outsider perspective."
Perhaps that is why for the two of you, this issue is so enormous to the point where you can't even conceive that someone else who says it isn't the same exact thing in their own life or their own sense of identity could be doing anything other than lying.
That's right TX, you just feel free to cherry-pick and take out of context to back up your ignorant views. No skin off my nose.
I can just see you sitting there laughing, imagining how i may be frothing at the mouth because you've called me by a girls name again, and yet i've got the biggest smirk on my face cos it's water off a ducks back to me. You think you're being clever, but your pointless mockery serves only to prove you've nothing productive to offer.
Everyone's opinions rest on their experiences of themselves and OTHERS. So sorry you disagree.
Pretending to be a pastel unicorn in a world of zebras completely ignores all of the arguments in favor of sticking one's head in the sand.
That's your opinion, plenty of people don't agree, and your argument rests mostly on your assumption that your experiences universalize out to everyone. I disagree fundamentally in one shared experience of being gay that puts us all on one linear progression of which people are either ahead of you or behind you, and allowing you to know exactly what course they're on or what they're thinking because of it.
I can't recall saying i wouldn't dignify you with a response. That i had little respect yes.

Right.
So, in summary... you don't do it anymore, so nobody should. Although it was fine when you did.
But... now that you don't anymore... it's not fine.
For anyone.
Ever again.
Because apparently your current position is the correct one. Even though your previous SA position was the correct one back then.
But it isn't correct anymore, because... well, because you say so, really.
That about right?

When I talk to people I talk about my life, just like they do, it's OBVIOUS I'm gay and there is no need for questions to be asked at all.
Do not belabor him with logic.
Actually that's not what he's saying. It wasn't fine for him when he was doing it either. He was just not aware. Now he is. Take note.
Good for you. Want a cookie?
When I talk about my life, it's not obvious I'm gay. Is that a problem?
