One of my buddies gets so excited by this video. He says,
"BOOM!"
Golden eagles are vicious creatures. Check out these photos of a golden eagle killing and eating a deer!
I just found out that golden eagles live in western Canada as well... hopefully I don't get ambushed by one! Until now, all I had to worry about was blackbirds swooping down and pecking at me!
You perhaps mean Sir David Attenborough. Although he did film subjects early, his chief work has been as presenter of nature series.

I'm sure folklore will reveal this to be true. It is illogical to suggest eagles only recently evolved the intelligence to knock a heavy goat off a cliff. It stands to reason that a human or two has been so attacked in the mountains before. Make that a very surprised human.
Although the link below sounds as if it was more likely a territorial response, the scenario is not far from the predatory attack you imagine:

That's sad.
Whats sad about an animal putting food on the table for their young ?
OK, Golden Eagles are 'bad ass' animals. Are there any 'good ass' animals?
I see ! My bad , i did not think of it in that way......The fact that it didn't ask if it would like to be food, or at least give the goat a list of way that it could die so the guy could at least have a CHOICE in his last moments.
I mean, the nerve of an animal for acting like an animal. The absolute tragedy of it all.
