  • Hi Guest - Did you know?
Hot Topics is a Safe for Work (SFW) forum.

Post something just for the heck of it

Oh sorry.

I thought you were purposefully asking a 'stupid' question when you asked "^ Questions like......?"

The camel thing is unrelated.

So what would be an example of a "stupid question": you or your siamese, I don't care who gives me an answer.

It depends on the meeting, doesn't it?

A few years ago, I was at a music festival. One of those where a bunch of bands play in a bunch of venues within a small area. One of the bands that I was told to check out was Magic Sword. They play electronic rock, heavy on the visuals, with lots of mystical lyrics and whatnot.

I got to the venue a bit early, and had to use the bathroom. Since I knew the owner, I ducked into the "back" restroom, which is pretty small and usually just used by staff (and to store cleaning supplies in). I opened the door, and there was Magic Sword.

In their masks.
And underwear.
And nothing else.

Apparently, they were using this tiny restroom to put on their costumes for the gig. We looked at each other for a second - well, I'm assuming they were looking at me - and then I just said, "I'll come back" and left.

I had a hard time getting into the spirit of their set after that.

Does anyone know what the orange triangle means on google maps?

-Nevermind, it's a detour symbol apparently. Just goes to show how often Septa actually uses it, the pricks.

Grace under pressure! Should I save-face half so elegantly I'd consider myself lucky beyond mortal means.

People with money who could afford an actual home... how perverse!

If you want to defend a crocheted ceiling that's your business.

It's not so much 'afford a home' as 'all contents are also sold with the lot'.

I do have to wonder if it's an 'interactive' artistic piece of a more "I wonder how far I can go" nature.

There are 70 images. It's a horror that's hard to miss on so very many levels.

You mean the fact that they made a cheap suburban British version of a D&G/Versace/Liberace&co. home?

Is an Ed Wood movie "wrong on so many levels"? What is wrong is pretending to be a different thing of what you actually are. At any rate, it wouldn't be the house itself, with its "contents", but the people responsible for the design pretending to sell it under a different light that glares to the rest of the world. Like, for example, mainstream fashion trends pretending to be "comfortable" and "informal".

Yes, and thanks for typing what should be an obvious world-view. But, consider - nothing in that house looks used and buying a place involves decoration of a personal nature that people factor into buying. If someone actually decorated it to their own lived-in liking its unused contents likely wouldn't be for sale.

So really, the question might be "What are you willing to do for what you want"

Buying a place involves a personal choice of the outer design and, honestly, the contents of that shit house perfectly fit the outside: in fact, one would be amazed that all those freak houses hoarding brick, stone, gables, mouldings in that way are not "decorated" in that same way too.

To a large extent that depends on where you live and what you have to work with. When there's few options the outside isn't really what people think to 'spruce up'. After all, it's not what they're usually staring straight at and cosmetic comes last. Us plebeians take into account construction, even with that kind've decor involved. Or at least we should.

(actual construction, not merely a facade. Though I really can't conscience that front doorway and window placement, either.)

Well, if you are not living in underdeveloped conditions you always have the choice, for example, between this sort of outer appearances:

and this one:

because, the outside and the inside are dependant on each other unless, of course, you play the game of masks and false appearances...

and, even then, they are hardly ever truly discordant and opposite.
