  • Hi Guest - Did you know?
Hot Topics is a Safe for Work (SFW) forum.

Post something just for the heck of it

I must admit I roughly* remember the plot, but no details. The same applies for the Zauberberg. Errm, there I skipped some two thirds, I guess ^^

* sounds weird? too tired for proper phrasing :(

LOL; belamo's thread, hence belamo's motto applies :D

I am much the same with Mann - I just read it out of a feeling I should try. Saying that my partner is no fool and he loves Death in Venice - must be some value in it somewhere.

The ginger thing in DiV is pretty simple - all the wicked characters have red hair, perhaps Silenus?. Dull metaphor and overplayed straight away.

I would say it's more accurate by going: tween, teen, 20s, 30s, 40s and 50s.

That metaphor was lost on most of the viewers who dismissed the movie as only suitable for old queens and pedos.

Google translates that as The Cycle of Life

15: gay guy friendship

30: morbid, vetch and orgies with guys cacjas no pen

40: 2 males seek third

50: unhurried sex relationship

60: love and affection i just have come out here

Gay Life Cycle

15: Gay guy looking for friendship

20s: Bottom looking for top

30s: Kinky guy for orgies with beefy guys. No queens

40s: Couple of manly men for threesome

50s: Unhurried sex, long-term relationship

60s: Love and affection... only freaks here!

Don't worry, I took against the book due to its clear hatred of ginger people...

I read DiV when it was first published:^o even, encouraging Luchino Visconti to make his cinematic triumph, Death in Venice... apart from his Ossessione my favourite Visconti work...of art...

Hardly hatred of ginger haired people...more a recognition of their passionate obsessiveness with the focus of their passion..

Here's a clip of Visconti's, Ossessione (1943) much appreciated by Benito Mussolini despite being banned by the Italian censor...until Fascism collapsed...a few months later..:

 It was published in 1912.

Note the symbol following my comment....Pinnochio...

I'm sorry to say Britten produced so many brilliant commissioned pieces for 30 years but then succumbed to his paranoic demons in the last 15 years

That's a matter of opinion...your's is noted.....
