Post something just for the heck of it

Forgot to mention - thanks belamo for the clip - I listened to the whole of Dido and Aeneas last night.

I liked the witches, they were fun - and the whole thunder and lightning stuff. The plot was vaguely similar to Acis and Galatea which I heard the previous night - Polyphemus the giant was entertaining in that one.

(P.S. they said "Gal-ah-TEE-ah???? I'd have always said it was "Gal-LAISH-sha")

Anyway my 'opera phase' is winding down and diminishing now as my interest wanes, so I probably won't be pestering you with questions any more - but you can take from it that you were the person who 'introduced' me to the subject.

Yes, Dido is quite short, but now that you are on it, try King Arthur and/or The Fairy Queen which, by the way, I recall hating whenever my brother would play them while we were sharing the room, twenty-five years ago
