  • Hi Guest - Did you know?
Hot Topics is a Safe for Work (SFW) forum.

Post something you've learned in life

My friend said once (and it's a she) -

"99.9% guys lose their 'virginity' to his right hand (or left hand)."

If there's one thing I've learned in life...and there may ONLY be one thing...it's that you CAN'T make a person feel something that they don't feel.

Try to distract yourself with friends and hobbies, try not to be around the object of your affection and DON'T sit alone in your room listen to sad music.

About 10 billion other people have had broken or lonely hearts before and you will survive. (*8*) (*8*)

"You'll be the same person 5 years from now except for two things:
1.The books that you read &
2.The people that you associate with."

"There are 3 things you can't avoid in life:
1.Death,
2.Taxes &
3.Conflics"

"Love everyone. But don't wait for anyone."

"Most people buy things they don't need, with money they don't have, to impress people they don't like."

"The greatest leaders are the greatest servers."

"The journey of a thousand miles begins with the first step."

"The secret to eveything in life is 'work'."

"The real secret of sucess is 'enthusiasm'."

"Failure to prepare is preparing to fail."

"The enemy of a 'great' life is a 'good' life."

"Play now, pay later. Or pay now, play later."

"Think of 'efforts', you'll fail.Think of 'rewards', you'll suceed."

"Men don't talk much.Women loves to talk.So, they can't be together.;) "

Plan to arrive at least 15 minutes early and you'll never be late

  • Friends come and go but family is forever
  • Save your pennies and the dollars will look after themselves (my grandfather used to say this to me)

No matter how much success you achieve don't ever forget where you came from

(will someone please help me out by posting on this thread? It's getting lonely)

Things are rarely as they seem before you experience them - so don't waste too much time thinking about it beforehand when you could be doing something else

that's a recent one anyway

I learn something new every day - more often than not I need to be reminded

You don't have to be a graduate to be the richest. You could be a school drop out and still be the richest.

No matter how smart you are there is someone always smarter.
Cherish your family even the ones you can't stand.
Always be willing to learn, you might need the knowlage later.
Never put the toothpaste in the end of the tooth brush with out the bristles; it hurts when you start brushing

Everyone needs cookies and milk and chicken soup really is good for the soul!

If you're tired or angry (or both), you shouldn't make a decision on anything. In fact, the second you realize you are, you should probably stop talking altogether.

On a less profound note, I know one thing about power drills. The best way to keep from stripping screw heads is to vary the drill speed, without letting it stop, or get to full power.

Edited to add: my signature text has some pretty good advice. I can't believe I didn't remember it until I posted.

You can count your true friends on one hand. How do you know who your true friends are? See who shows up on moving day.

We are all meant to die. That's what makes everything about us matter.
On that note...learn to truly appreciate people, before it's too late.

Or similarily in the words of a Polish poet/priest, Jan Twardowski:
"Let us hurry to love people, they depart so quickly."

You can't tall anyone anything that isn't already half-formed in their minds.

Life is finite, don't waste a day.

A pithy aphorism is less significant than the story behind it.

That just because you make one wrong choice in your career path doesn't mean your whole life ends
