[An account for those who are interested since I tend to see people inquiring about it and what not. Even I looked through similar posts for info before I had the procedure]
I was officially diagnosed with Phimosis in the middle of January of this year. I've known of my condition for awhile now but never went to the doctor. He pretty much said circumcision was the way to go. I hesitated at first but decided to go ahead with the operation seeing as how I felt it was the only solution since I've never been able to retract my foreskin fully while erect. <<on a side note; I also had an odd looking bruise on part of the tight foreskin that was very unappealing, so being able to rid myself of that would be a plus>>
I had the operation this past thursday on the 17. I was a little scared at first but the last thing I remember is being rolled into the operating room with the overhead lights. Next thing I know I wake up feeling woozy from the anesthesia. I can barely walk for a good bit and am wheelchaired out of the building. As I get into my car I can feel area begin to sting. Let me tell you, it is an uneasy feeling seeing your member with all the stitches and scarline; It wasn't too bad though. It is very hard to pee during the first couple of days afterwards. Sometimes you get a steady stream, other times you'd think you're handling an uzi as it just tends to spray in every direction
(I'd also like to mention that there was never really much bleeding in my case. Even on the first day there was barely a drops worth of blood on my gauze; other than that just a small red opening on a stitch here and there but never any trickling)
I slept pretty well the first day and night when the operation was performed. Didn't have too much trouble seeing as how the medication was still kicking.
Around day 2-4 were horrible, walking and sleeping became tasks that had to be done carefully or else you would get small jolts of pain (Nothing really painful just very uncomfortable). Sleeping was pretty hard no pun intended and by that I mean the only thing keeping you up are the random erections at the middle of the night. I would wake up every other hour with a stinging/burning sensation just to find out its my body trying to get a boner. I usually had to lay there in bed and try to make it go away, its the only way I could sleep. It might just be me but I've read elsewhere that its a main problem people have as far as a good nights rest goes. It becomes very bothersome and annoying after waking up various time for the same reason.
Day5 after the operation was my first time back at work. I was still walking a little odd, I'm surprised no one brought it up. It took me until later that night to realize that the only thing still making it uncomfortable to walk and what not were the stitches on my member. They tend to rub and prick at the head of my penis which can be painful at times. I had phimosis, so the are glans very very sensitive.
(Oh and during the end of the fifth day I realized that the swelling around and under my glans went away. Some of my foreskin was still able to cover a small portion of the glans.)
Right now its 4am where I'm from and you can say its the beginning of day6. I've taken a shower and things are beginning to feel better. I have yet to feel any discomfort in the last couple of hours. I think I'm at the point where things can only get and feel better. Ever since I saw my penis after the first couple of days I can say I'm actually pleased with the way it looks>>apart form the stitches and such. I can't wait for the day I can use it again!
Its such a bother not even being able to get fully erect, and thats pretty much the worst part out of everything for me. I will say I'm happy I went through with the surgery. Don't let my stories of pain here and there scare you. Its more of a discomfort than anything else.
