President Obama it is!

And now the real John McCain comes out. This is the man I knew in 2000. I wonder what happened to him in this election. If he would have been like he was in his concession speech he might have had a better chance to win.
Indeed. Watching his concession speech reminded me of Darth Vader's final words to Luke.

Obama has taken the lead in NC and IN with 95% and 97% reporting respectively.

Yes we can! And yes we did!

From the very beginning, I knew you'd win, Obama! I believe in you!

This is clearly a turning point in American history. May Obama accomplish all that he seeks to accomplish, in order to bring this country out of its current economic, war-mongering, selfish, and greed-induced decline. Not since JFK have we been blessed with the potential of so great a leader.

GO OBAMA!!!!!!!!!

Good morning from Germany

Congratulation America ..|

Yes you can!! :D

Congratulations President Obama!

And as a VOL on the Obama campaign! THANK ALL OF YOU FOR VOTING FOR OUR NEW PRESIDENT,
BARACK OBAMA!!!!!!!!!

Yes! I'm ecstatic! :D Finally, the US will be heading in the right direction again! =D

Congratulations and Godspeed to President-elect Obama.

In Times Square last night, and up at Columbia University and Harlem (those are the places I went) there was celebrating in the streets. Folks came out of their apartments, spilled onto sidewalks, whooping and shouting, jumping and screaming, big grins and some tears, and everybody hugging everybody. What a night!

^ I think this is one of the most wonderful things about this moment. It's the first time in such a long time that politics has brought people into the streets to shout with joy, instead of shouting complaint, disgust or injustice.

Here's hoping it's the first of many!

Congratulations from Germany, Gentlemen!
This is a historic day, no doubt! All over the world the people are happy, that you voted for this man! Now we can solve problems with diplomacy, we can build a new friendship with the great nation of America. President Obama will listen and act.
The US have many problems and Obama can´t solve every big problem in a short time. But he has the will to make America better.
Stand together! And see your friends in the world. "America first" was the wrong way. With friends it is easier...

Thank you to Hillary and Bill Clinton. That was courage!!!

I watched CNN tonight and I saw the tears of Jesse Jackson and Oprah Winfrey and many black people. And I had tears, too. 40 years after Martin Luther Kings death I know your feelings. This night was a milestone, a milestone against racism and for humanity. I am happy with you, so happy.

Thank you to Senator McCain for his concession speech. A great speech. This is democracy! This is dignity! McCain supporters should mark his words. No hysteria, no more lies.

8 years I waited for this day. 8 long years. I never understood, why you voted for George W.. I couldn´believe it. But today I am proud to be a friend of America.
Thank you all. And good luck for your new President, Mr. Barack Obama!

Well said Nick! ..|

As we drove home from my parents' house, we honked our horn at the hundreds of Obama supporters who were standing on the street corners, still waving their signs and hollering. One might say that, finally, this WAS "their" election.

McCain gave one of the nicest concession speeches I've ever heard. I'd love to see Obama pull him on board somehow.

In more local news, Marilyn "the homosexuals are after your way of life" Musgrave finally lost her seat.

Best talking head moment - a local guy who explained that, since the Democrats had barely had plurality in the popular vote, they certainly didn't have much mandate for change. This same guy, in 2004, explained that the election sent "a clear signal to Washington".

It's the great and glorious day for all the people on the Earth! I sincerly congratulate the United States of America and its people!

The world will little note, nor long remember what we say here, on this forum, but it can never forget that day - the Day of the victory of Barack Obama!

CONGRATULATIONS AMERICA!!!!!

I went over to my grandparents this morning, just to see. I was extremely surprised that my white, southern, skeptical grandparents had both voted Obama!!!

If that isn't a testament to the man, I don't know what is!

Raise your glasses to the end of the bush era, here's hoping for a smarter, stronger more compassionate America.

Cheers!!!!

FOX was speculating earlier that McCain may be asked to be Obama's Secretary of Defense.

If it's offered, and McCain thinks he could do it, I'd say go for it. :)

Please notice that Democratic Congressman Chet Edwards WILL remain Bush's Congressman once Bush43 goes into the "witness protection" program.

I'd love to see him in a witness protection program, if it would help bring Cheney to justice!

Like, waking up in the uniform of a private in the Georgian Army, facing three Russians whose doxy he just bedded....
