I don't think those judges know what avant garde is.

Dmitry has, at most, two ideas. And is consistently praised for executing those two ideas very well.
Justin's look was the most avant garde, the most original, and the riskiest look. He can be hit or miss, but with some finesse and a little more time, and perhaps some better fabric, this could have been great.

Once again, I liked what Michele was going for earlier in the challenge, and for some reason it came out a mess.
I love Helen's work, but I don't think this was avant garde and was quite boring. Also a terrible color.
Jesus Christ, why does Fabio keep using pink? Not a great idea. Not very well executed.
I don't recall what Jay did again.
Sanjia's look was nice, but kind of predictable.
 
Helen's design was horrible. I LOL'd at the judges fawning all over it. Dimitry's design was dull and shouldn't have won.
 
This week's critiques on All-Stars:
Helen: No, I thought her ready to wear looked maternity. I did like her dress. I thought it was interesting.
Jay: No, The ready to wear pants were too baggy. The dress was not fashion forward.
Fabio: No, The ready to wear was too simple. The dress was ugly.
Sonjia: No, I did not like the grey lace and cutouts on the ready to wear. The Yellow dress with cutouts I thought was ugly.
Dimitry: No, I did not like the neoprene and lace on both the ready to wear and the dress.
Michelle: Yes, I liked the fabric on both the ready to wear and the dress. I thought the sleeves on the dress was interesting.

Sonjia was the winner. I disagree with the judges. I thought Michelle should have been the winner.

Jay was sent home. I thought Fabio should have been sent home. He has been in the bottom too many times. Also, I thought both his looks were worse than Jay's.

What did everyone else think?
 
I don't remember much. Just that Isaac Mizrahi is a total windbag. He rarely says anything constructive and just plays to the camera. Not surprising from someone who insists the moon is a planet.
 
Tonight's Project Runway All-Stars the challenge was to design a Bridesmaid dress for multiple events.
Helen: No, I thought her dress was boring and conservative.
Fabio: Yes, I liked the applique on the sleeve and the back of the dress.
Sonjia: Yes, I liked her dress. I thought it was sexy.
Dimitry: Yes, it was a pretty dress.
Michelle: No, the fit of the dress was off.

Helen was the winner this week. I disagree with the judges. I thought Sonjia's dress was better than all the dresses. Fabio was finally sent home this week. After being in the bottom several times, his luck finally ran out.

Personally I don't think any of the designs were wonderful for an All-Stars challenge. Where is the creative designs?

What did everyone else think of this week's designs? Is anyone else still watching? Critiques and comments?
 
Tonight's Project Runway All-Stars the challenge was to design a Bridesmaid dress for multiple events.
Helen: it was nice but also a bit boring and seen 1000 times before..maybe it was because of the lighting or whatever but you didten really notice all the lace because they were in such dark colors.

Fabio: Not my favorite from him...i thought it was a boring design and i did not like the sequins things and sleeves..too cheap looking

Sonjia: she was my fav too and her dress was really the only one i could see used outside a wedding
Dimitry: boring. he is all talk but his designs are soooo boring..
Michelle:like the judges said. CIRCUS .. it look so home made and the color was way off for me..that was really pink..not blume...

I think Michelle should have gone home. her designs are allways looking crafty and a bit homemade for me.. i would rather have seen a show from fabio than her...

I think this season i dont really have a fav.. most of the designers has been pretty unstable in their designs so its hard to tell who can do a really nice collection....but Def Sonijia that girl can really bring something new i think.. Helene i think would do great also... dont care if it is dimitry or michelle both can go home for all i care

Agreed. Would have been better with no winner and another challenge. I didn't like any of the designs this week.
 
Tonight's Project Runway All-Stars challenge was to design a Red-Carpet gown inspired by Marilyn Monroe.
Helen: No, The dress was nice but not memorable. It was also boring.
Sonjia: Yes, I liked the big bow it made the dress very dramatic.
Dimitry: No, I did not like the fringe. I did not think the dress looked like a Red-Carpet gown.
Michelle: Yes, I thought the material of the dress was very beautiful on the runway. I also thought the cutout in the back was sexy!

I did not think any of the dresses are Oscar Worthy or very memorable with the exception maybe of Sonjia's being memorable.
 
There was a mini challenge that was inspired by Lassie's new doggie clothing and accessory line. Each designer was given a shelter dog and a theme that they had to create an outfit for. Michelle won the doggie challenge.

Dimitry was the winner of Tonight's Red-Carpet gown challenge that was inspired by Marilyn Monroe.
Sonjia was sent on to the Finale as well.

The judges could not decide among Michelle and Helen who to send on to the Finale and who to send home.
So they created another challenge that they had to use 3 failed looks from 6 from designers who were sent home.

Helen: designed a dress using 4 failed look dresses.
Michelle: designed a dress only using 2 failed look dresses. She called her design a Pantcho.

Helen was sent on to the Finale and Michelle was sent home.

What did everyone think of tonight's challenges and designs? Next week is the Finale, who do you predict will win?

My prediction of the winner of Project Runway All-Stars is Dimitry though I am rooting for Sonjia. She has come up with some great designs and looks this season.

Sanjia: I love her dress and her designs in general.. i agree maybe there was alot going on in this look but gorgeous
Michelle: looked so cheap..and very 90s..like something rose mcgawn would wearing while she was dating marilyn manson
Helene: classic but a bit boring and a bit bride'ish...
Dimitry: i didten like this..it reminded me alot of what Uli did when she was on all stars...it wasent for me red carpet but a nice party dress....

about the mini thing: i actually liked both of them..but michelle only used two looks and one of them she dident event do any thing with (jays tank top).. helens was very classic

Im also rooting for Sonjia ..she is on point with her style and she allways brings something new and that you can remember...Helene has done some beautiful work too but i dont know if she can handle it with all these meltdowns...
 
I suck at judging fashion and what I like is almost always different from the judges..but Helen is my favorite from this bunch from the beginning and hope she wins. My favorite designer ever was Daniel Vosovic from Season Two and it was one of the only times I was on the same page as the judges alot of the time...same with Christian Siriano...I liked him and agreed with the judges alot...but other than those two...l almost always get it wrong. My other favorite was Elisa who spit on the clothes LOL

I want to see Helen win

her designs were good, nice colors , but i do think there was some pieces that didten go together...i thought the whole lace part of the show was a bit off from the rest of the collection..but they were good the pieces...

fav thing: the jumpsuit
least fav: the red dress with the west & also the final dress.

Dimitry
thought his collectionw as a bit boring and the designs were a bit outdated to me..

fav thing: the dress with the big leaf & the yellow dress jumper
least fav: the white suit

Helene
she had some very intresting siluettes and style lines to her designs but i thought the fabric choices was a big off

fav thing: the off white crop top dress & the cape dress
least fav: the lace shrit with the big grey/black skirt

Dimitry won..why i do not know...i didten get it when he won the first time he was on either

but what was really annoying (other that dimitry winning) was that awfull dupstep music that the show had put on as the runway music..it was so fucking awfull and didten go with any of the collections...
 
For the Finale the designers had to create an 8 piece collection representing all 4 seasons with 2 looks for each season and they had 4 days to create their collections.
Helen: I thought her collection was very matronly and old lady looking. I did not like her looks throughout the season. I do not know why she was even in the Finale! She came in 3rd place.
Dimitry: I thought his collection was boring. Everything was either dresses, suits, or skirts. His look was too Repetitive! He was the winner which I do not understand. It seemed like all throughout the competition Isaac favored him the most.
Sonjia: I liked her collection a lot. Her collection was very diverse. The colors and the type of fabrics she selected were very nice on the runway. She came in 2nd place.

All in all I think this season's Project Runway All-Stars was a bit disappointing with the winning results!
Next week is the reunion special! Anyone else have any critiques and opinions about the winner of All-Stars?
 
The only collection I really liked was Helen's collection. I love me some Dmitry and Sonjia but their collections did not appeal to me this time.

In reading some of last week's comments about Michelle getting the boot, I had to LOL. People were actually posting complaints about other contestant's negative comments about her. Hello! Michelle was the fucking queen of negative comments about other's designs. Fucking asshole.

Anyone know when the new season of PR starts.
 
Project Runway Season 14 is now casting and it will be taping in June and July with a premiere date in Late July.
 
I didn't really love any of the three finalists collections. I liked Helen's the most. She seemed to be the most harshly criticized though. This could be due to editing, but they criticized nearly all of her looks, while the other two they really just talked about half of their looks. Dmitry really is the most predictable designer. He hasn't changed, improved upon, or updated his style since winning season 10.

Helen could have done more, but I thought giving them 4 days for 8 looks was just ridiculous and unfair. It really just isn't fun watching knowing these designers are being constrained for kicks. They're had tough challenges, but this is the finale. They deserve more than that.

Sonjia has always been my least favorite. I like the colors and fabrics. But not her design at all. I liked Helen's use of lace much more. Many of both Sonjia's and Dmitry's looks were retreads from things' they've already done this season. If Helen had done the same, she would have won. But she wanted to show her versatility. Also Dmitry did not really follow the rules of the challenge. How did this collection represent 4 seasons? 2 for each season? It just did not do that. He ignored the themes of challenges throughout this entire season and just does what he wants. It's worked before, so why not. Cut-outs, fringe, blue, black, white. I did like his silhouettes, with the shoulders and heavy sleeves though.
