I just occaisionally forget that a lot of the Americans here appear to be so insular that they don't take kindly to outsiders playing in their little sandbox ... and thus any non-US comments or observations are unwelcome. But I don't mind; I'm here purely for entertainment purposes.

That's how you play the game to get elected in America, when you're not part of global elite, and it worked. Trump will behave now and play nice. Who you do have to watch out for is Pence. That's why he's Trump's co-hort. Pence is his insurance policy. Just think about it.

They also start changing because once they're actually the -elect, they suddenly get access to a lot more information, and that an change their views.

Yeah, Pence is a kind of insurance policy: if someone were to assassinate Trump, things would get REALLY bad.
