Actually yes, i have thought seriously about doing just that, it would mean a drop in income but i wouldn't have to pay my rent or council tax or my dental fees or prescription charges. I'd have lots of free time to myself and wouldn't have the stress of work. BUT, the stigma of living off other workers is unsavoury. I was unemployed once before and don't want to be in that boat again, its very tempting tho, if i have a nervous breakdown later in life then i'll probably just think f*** it, i quit work.
I certainly have. I did attend my R E lessons, i just found myself using the time to think about life rather than listening to the teacher. It didn't help that the teacher was a miserable and grouchy young woman. History was a much better subject, the teacher was cool.
And right here you're losing me.
At least you acknowledge that living off the work of others is repugnant.
Because it is.
Anyone who decides to piss away the rest of their life being nothing more than a big baby contributing nothing to their community deserves no sympathy unless they have a debilitating illness.
Of course there is stress in work. Too often it becomes over-emphasized though.
Find work you want to do. Pursue that. Find joy.
No one should expect that others will just keep handing them stuff the rest of their lives.
