  • Hi Guest - Did you know?
Hot Topics is a Safe for Work (SFW) forum.

racist gay club

If the problem never goes away, why would it stopped being talked about?

(and you don't seem to help matters yourself, sir)

You mean I sometimes made 'spicy' threads here, just for the lulz?

Sure.

What kind of threads?

The mislabeled ones?

Ethnic minority Munchhausen by Proxy threads. It's this or incest or scat.

Let's talk about your screen name: Harke (to hear) the Boeotarch.

Boetarch.

Sounds like "bois d'arc."

Is there something that you're not sharing?

I always thought Harke got the Boeotarch part from Boeotia, a region whose inhabitants were considered at the very least uncultured by the Athenians, and from '-arch' meaning leader. That is, he's proclaiming himself to be a leader of the unsophisticated, probably with sarcastic intent (that is, he disapproves of "sophisticated" people).

The only reason I've chosen this name, is because it's one in a bewilderingly long list of
"-arch"s from a huge variety of ancient systems of governing, that belie the current belief that a so-called modern representative democracy as most countries perform it is the only possible outcome of a rational consideration of what is required to solve the problem of a just government.

Well, that's certainly unsophisticated.

Munchhausen by Proxy, my noble tail feathers.

Excluding people based on fashion seems clumsy and wooden, and I'm inclined to accept the idea that it was a pretext for racism. However I do believe it is possible to create a cultural events or experiences that include a dress code or norms of fashion.

If I wanted to participate in that venue I would consider contributing to the atmosphere by playing along with the fashion even if it isn't what I would ordinarily wear. I'd prefer it be a "fashion goal" rather than a "fashion rule" though, because I think it would make things more interesting if there was some room to bend the rules.

Still though, actually hearing someone making an undoubtedly racist remark, I'd be annoyed too.

I suspect this moue would not even be visible in the OP's situation.

Most nightclubs are designed and decorated to be dim if not dark, noisy, hot and crowded dark for a normal person to have any normal accurate perception.

The supply and consumption of mind-altering drugs makes it even more difficult.

A new gay club opened in my neighborhood, and at first it wasn't doing to good. But recently, lots of people have been coming. Anyways, I decided to go a few nights ago with some friends.

I'm having a good time with some buddies dancing when all of a sudden, a Ginger guy comes in holding hands with a cute black guy. As soon as they came to the bar, I heard this guy mutter, "what is with all these guys dating niggers". This really made me upset. Part of me wanted to get into that guys face, but I decided to ignore it.

Long story short, I just wanted to say that its sad racism still exists in the gay community. I'm hoping someone can tell me why it does, and what can we do to stop it.

just say ta ( this guy ) WOT?

save ya go ( its sad racism still exists in the gay community )

thankyou

no more thinkin at this time

;)

And did people forget to ask, what did you do to the men who entered? Did you say anything smart out of your mouth to PROVOKE a insult back?

but Wilbur, is 'ginger' better than 'Ranga'?

SOOOO much better than every other name I've heard or read.

Hmm a ginger guy and a black guy getting it on together seems kinda sexy to me. x

Me too - I'm hoping it will happen for me one day.

GIYF. But I just looked it up, so I'll tell you: it's an offensive term for a red-haired person. It's offensive because it's short for orangutan.

I didn't know about the 'orangutan' part, I thought it was a deliberate mis-pronounce of 'orange'. I've always heard it in a condescending/derogatory context - that's why I hate it so much.

'Ranga' sounds like some Australian word.

I'm pretty certain it is.

Be careful what you wish for. :)

Thanks for that - they are so fucking sexy! How could anyone hate something so damn beautiful?

Well, it didn't concern you. That's his business if he doesn't want to see a black and a white together.

Most of the gays here (and most gays everywhere, I've found) probably discriminate the same way when choosing partners, although they would not be so bold as to use the "N" word openly. So, the fake outrage displayed here and in threads like this is always a little much.

If I'm the club owner, I'd cringe at such a thread. Because of some drunk asshole saying racist crap, you paint the entire club racist.

LOL...yea it's sad...but let's be real, if the OP had reported the racist to the club owner, do you really think the owner would have really given a shit or taken ANY action? Probably not. And if not, he is just as bad as the rest of the gay racists----big BIGGOTS and HYPOCRITES. Like someone said earlier, the phenomenon that it's ok to be an -ist against something that has no impact on YOU is sad. Gay people live their superficial lives choosing fuck buddies/bf's based on your race and your age. On the other hand, if someone is discriminating on a gay person, then "oh my God" it becomes "the worst thing in the world" and they DEMAND equality and respect...yet those very same whining gay people are using racial slurs/disriminatory practices every chance they get and "no blacks" or "no latins" or "no asians" is a part of their regular vocabulary!! F'ing ridiculous....lol

And see, it's because of people like you and quotes like this that racism and ignorance still exist prevantly. I can't believe you actually think what just came out of your mouth is OK. And see that is even more sad. People like you who, according to your statements, seem very ignorant and stubborn and REFUSE to change or meet REALITY. The going idea is: well, if it doesn't concern me or if I can't relate to the struggle of the group of people discriminated upon....then just let it happen. If everyone lived like that in history, then we would never have any advocats for change, representing what is right just because it is right, not only because it directly affects/benefits them. I bet if the guy had said "whats up with all these fags" or "I hate gay people", then you would be singing a different tune and you wouldn't have made your stupid and ignorant statement....because it directly relates to YOU. just smh ](*,) ](*,)

I'm really not sure what you're trying to say here.

Like I said, it's his personal business if he doesn't want to see blacks and whites together. He was not being aggressive/violent toward the interracial couple and so his opinions are his own personal business. You cannot wage a crusade against every person who disagrees with interracial dating, or gays (no, I would not be singing a different tune, because I'm stable enough to not let people's own bigotries affect me), etc. People can have their own opinions about things and that's OK as long as they stay that: personal opinions.

Having just deleted several posts I would remind people to discuss the topic - do not make a negative comment on the person making the post.

It's probably because gays are decrimanated against so he does it to blacks. And just because your gay doesn't mean you can't be a racist. Gay doesn't mean perfect it just means GAY.

It's probably because gays are decrimanated against so he does it to blacks…

I think there may be some voguish psychological term for that syndrome.

The boss humiliates his employee.
The employee goes home and berates his wife.
The unhappy wife scolds the children.
The children go and kick the cat.
!oops!

I think Gay people can be proud of their tendency to be inter-ethnic and pioneers of a more peaceful global community.

It's truly worth it to discipline your speech. Even if it is something distasteful as the OP cited, it's better for everybody to focus on making it better, not worse. It's better for your own mind and that's better for everything in life.

Make something good out of your anger. The more you do it the easier it is.
