Rahm Booted off ballot

This is the problem I have. If he was wealthy and didn't need to rent out his house, he would have met the residency requirement. It discriminates against people who are not wealthy.

Not really. Members of congress have dealt with this for a long time, and they manage to get by.

Someone in Rahm's position would have no need to rent out his house, considering not only his wealth but also his $172,000 a year salary.

That's the funny part; he's actually ahead in polls, but mainly because of the democratic establishment in Chicago. He's an old-style dem candidate, and he's been using the machine already in place to his advantage.

He's screwed though. Its really doubtful he'll get past this setback. So...Chicago might be in line for its first female African American mayor.

I think not. When I listen to Carol Mosely Braun try to explain her income tax issues, it's almost as bad as "I didn't inhale." Too much baggage! :help:
What Chicago needs is a mayor with integrity. Fat chance. #-o

chance? You gonna sit there and take that? ;)

i resemble that remark ;)

actually couple years i ago i was perhaps a tad overweight (by ridiculous gay male standards)

not now though

as for rahm ..........

i guess chicago keeps its moniker of the political wheeling and dealing capital

my take is rahm will be mayor

and will win by a large margin

Sort of. Technically he is on the printed ballot, but as of now he still isn't able to run.

As I understand it, yes he is. The appeals court decision was what said he could not run. Since that ruling is stayed it is not in effect. Meaning there is no ruling that he cannot run that is currently in effect.

Of course, the IL supreme court will have the final say, so whatever their ruling is will determine it.

No. The court only issued a partial stay based on the fact that the Board of Elections needed to print ballots for early voting that started next week. The residency issue is not decided, and Rahm is still NOT technically able to run.

Yep, Rahn is likely a shoe in. Those voters in chicago must like to be dominated by their leaders.

I find the political drama amusing.

You hit the nail right on the head. (I was going to say you "hit the bull's eye" but thought the better of it.) Unlike normal municipalities, Chicago is comprised of two parties: Democrats who hold office and Democrats who do not. The term "windy city" has nothing to do with the weather. Rather refers to city government! The political drama reminds me of the Mad Tea Party without the humor. :##:

As stated before, he's not my favorite guy, but if he's not a Chicagoan, who is?
