(*8*) Good evening my dear Miss Fuzz-Face.

My store is a mad house in the morning as customers rush to get their purchases before we run out. By the time I start at 4PM the store is almost empty. I still come face to face with those exiting. Gloves are being supplied but few of us are using them. No masks. I doubt any of that would do any good as everyone crowds together in the check out lines.

Last night they had five of us (Asset Protection) personnel on duty to guard two doors.

The only action I saw was when a customer tried to get two cases of water past me. The limit is one per family.

We where just standing around talking to each other when our boss joined in. I asked her if some of us would be laid off. She replied I was certified as an essential worker and can not be laid off or cut back. I can thank the Chinese for job security;)

I hope you continue to be safe from the Chinese virus.

Good evening, my dear Mr. Fluff-Butt (*8*) At my store, in addition to keeping the required distance from the checkout whilst waiting in line, customers are advised to also keep the required distance from each other and this is mostly working. Some of my colleagues are quite strict about the customers sticking to this. As I've already said though, when moving around the store, it is not always possible to keep a distance between people. I looked on Aldi's website today and it says they are installing perspex screens around the each till, which sounds like what Al referred to the other day. Hopefully our store will also do this before much longer. I don't know if any other companies have done this or are planning to do so, but hopefully they will.

Some of the customers have thanked me personally and a number of my colleagues, for coming to work and still providing a service. Also, just before I left work yesterday, my manager said she felt like crying. This was because she had just had a phone conversation with someone who was extremely grateful to us, especially as she realised that us retail workers are at risk.

Good evening, Foxy. (*8*) I hope you are okay. I’d like to leave you a pm if that is okay. Thanks, Rob.

The panic buying has eased off considerably, although some people are still buying in multiples. We did run out of toilet rolls again last week, they were back in at the weekend though. A lot of people have been buying decorating and gardening materials, which makes sense when isolating. There are going to be a lot of spick and span houses and gardens in Liverpool!

More and more customers have been thanking me "for your service" and saying they apricate my risking health so they can get the food they need. What a change from the usual hostile response to the checking of receipts.

Management is showing their gratitude in many small ways. Treats to eat and posters saying thanks, two new Keurig K-up machines in the break room and we will be getting a bonus in our pay Thursday.

Stay safe my dear. (*8*)

^ The company Kev works for is considered "essential". One of the things they make are the plastic K-Cups. Millions of them. ..|

I'm heartened to hear y'all are Finally being appreciated for what you do, and Continue to do! We're finally realizing who our real Heroes are! (group) (< That's virtual, of course. But, I really mean it! (*8*) )

So true! I've been too busy for much of that, but I'm trying to get my food storage organized, maybe defrost the big freezer after eating more. I stuffed it full several months ago.

It's great to know management and customers are showing appreciation and concern, and that all of you are doing well. I'm not so brave-- haven't gone anywhere since March 13. With the "roomie" working in a hospital that has COVID19 patients, I'm trying to keep one of us away from it all.

 (*8*) (*8*)

Good afternoon, Gatorguy (*8*) I hope today finds you well (*8*)

Good afternoon, most beloved of cousins (*8*) (*8*) I love the cat cartoon! :rotflmao:
So, you're hoarding of groceries is finally paying off! ;) Please don't go anywhere unless it's absolutely necessary. I'm wishing for the safety of your roomie (*8*)

Hiya, Chaz (*8*)

Good afternoon, Mr. Fluff-Butt (*8*)

I haven't heard anything about my employers giving us treats or giving us any extra in our pay packets. It would be a huge surprise if they did.

Good afternoon, Foxy, (*8*) I hope you are having a great Wednesday. I’m glad you’re work is not too strenuous at the moment, but I hope you get more protection until the crisis is over - they seem to be saying another couple of months, but time will tell.
I didn’t go into Tesco today, but Asda. In there it was extremely quiet, no queuing at all, and lots and lots of toilet and kitchen rolls. Paracetamol too - I had to purchase one pack since I’ve done my lower back in.
They are always so kind and helpful in there, that I think it’s now my store of choice.
So, I’m resting my back for the rest of the day. It’s just very painful.

Good Wednesday Afternoon RedFox (*8*)

I hope you are having a great day and doing well.

Myself I am doing better with a little pain still on the left side of the head.

^ Oh no! The magic is spoiled now! I preferred it when I didn't know! :( ;)

Good evening, my dear Ali Cat (*8*)

Good evening, Gatorguy (*8*) I'm very glad to hear that you are feeling a bit better (*8*) I'm well, thank you. Had a busy day though, had to take my car in for a repair and I've got the nephew staying with me. The garage is a 15 minute walk away so dropping the car off, then picking it up and taking the dog out twice means I've been out of the house four times altogether. I'm a little bit tired tonight! :dead:

Good evening, Rob (*8*) I'm glad to hear that you had a better shopping experience ..| Sorry to hear that your back is troubling you though. Can you take ibuprofen? When my back bothers me I take both paracetamol and ibuprofen together, it really helps me. I hope you feel better soon (*8*)
