'I've been waiting for you all day,' the officer said.
The kid replied, 'Yeah, well I got here as fast as I could.'
When the cop finally stopped laughing,
he sent the kid on his way without a ticket.

A college teacher reminds her class of
tomorrow's final exam. 'Now class,
I won't tolerate any excuses for you
not being here tomorrow.
I might consider a nuclear attack or a
serious personal injury, illness,
or a death in your immediate family,
but that's it, no other excuses whatsoever!'
A smart-ass student in the back of the room
raised his hand and asked,
'What would you say if tomorrow I said I was suffering
from complete and utter sexual exhaustion?'
The entire class is reduced to laughter and snickering.

knowingly at the student, shook her head
and sweetly said,
'Well, I guess you'd have to write the exam
with your other hand.'

Good evening, Foxy. I hope you’ve had a good day with work going smoothly for you. Over here Tesco have just introduced new scanners at the checkouts. The are ok, but make a most awful piercing screaming sound with each item when scanned. I don’t know, but I think the staff will not be too happy with them. Anyway, I’m ok, and about to have my evening meal.

Yes, I have been working today, it wasn't too bad though. Sundays are usually extremely busy, but today was a little less so. On Saturday I'm very glad that I wasn't in work until the afternoon. There was a problem with the tills. They stopped working, apparently the whole network across all stores went offline, understandably this caused a major headache. Thankfully all were working properly by the time I got to work.
I'm doing a few less hours over the next couple of weeks, which will make a welcome change. I need to tidy up outside and catch up on my ironing. Also, I've got my nephew coming to stay in 10 days' time and hopefully the weather will be nice and I won't be working a lot of long shifts while he's here
Rob, I reckon that Tesco will have to fix that scanner issue sooner rather than later, or else they will probably lose customers. When I worked there, there was an option to adjust the tone and volume of the sound the scanner made, so it might just be as simple as that with the new ones.

So I made a complaint. The guy I spoke with said he will forward it to a manager. We’ll see how that goes, but he is not sure if they can be adjusted in the way you said.
