I've had four days off from work (since Sunday) but they've been rough. I've got another dental problem, for which I am now taking an antibiotic. Consequentally I've been sleeping even worse than usual and have been feeling pretty awful. I'm much better today though. Hopefully I will get to see the dentist next week and he can fix my problems.

So far in work only a couple of air conditioning units have been installed and it doesn't seem certain whether or not more will be fitted. As for my working hours, I have stated my position regarding how many hours I am willing and able to work, so hopefully things will be different in future. We've also taken on extra cashiers so that will also help with the workload.

As for the footy, well, since clinching the title some of the results and performances have been hugely disappointing. A lot of people will say it doesn't matter, but for me it just takes the gloss off things, but that's probably because the lads winning games always fills me with good cheer. That's my feeling at present, but I'm sure that in the future I will be able to more easily enjoy what has happened. It truly has been a magnificent achievement by the lads and indeed everyone else at the club.

I’m so sorry about your dental issue. Thank goodness we have dentists back at work, so I hope, next week, you can get it put right with no more pain.
Regarding your boys winning the premiership, I think I recall a similar situation after HullFC won the Challenge Cup back in 2017. They lost all remaining matches that season, and it just didn’t feel right, somehow. Next season will hopefully get things going in the right way once more.
I’m okay, and I’m relaxing this evening.

Yes, I think it is something that has happened a number of times with various sports teams. It's not necessarily that they aren't trying to win, I think it must be a subconscious thing, because they no longer need to strive so hard to get the results. After all, success in sports has a lot to do with mind over matter, not just talent and hard work. Hopefully they will be able to put in strong performances again next season and earn even more success :mrgreen:

My local newspaper, the Liverpool Echo, regularly publishes poems composed by local citizens. Here are a couple of recent ones which I think are worthy of sharing :mrgreen:
