Two weeks. I wonder if the Pentagon didn't put it off this long on purpose. But it's not long enough to be impossible. It's still 10 days between the release and the end of the session, and that could always change too.
Even better.

m'kay.
We're also in a "lame duck" session.

Obama isn't going to Alberto Gonzales DADT. His preferred method was to get this done through congress.
Sorry to burst your capital letter bubble Centex but you have to acknowledge that the House voted and passed a repeal months ago, and the only reason it is being held up in the Senate and having not been voted on months ago is conservative unity behind a filibuster.
There are a number off the top of my head, most of whom are from the liberal Northeast or did not seek re-election.
Gregg (R-NH)
Brown (R-MA)
Collins (R-ME)
Snowe (R-ME)
Lugar (R-IN)
Voinovich (R-OH)

Where are the Democrats who've been our CHAMPIONS?
Without Lieberman (I-CT) and Carl Levin (D-MI) this wouldn't even be up for consideration in the first place. Both have pushed hard for the passage of a repeal, and I count them among our champions right along with Ted Kennedy.

Court order would be the best way. It would just cut through all of the political crap and get right to the point, and establish lasting legal precedent in support of gay people as a distinct legal class. In fact the Secretary of Defense "fears" that the court way would be too chaotic, whatever that means, so he is arguing just that in support of a Congressional repeal. President Obama, the politician that he is, doesn't favor the court way because then the issue out of his hands and out of his control (control freak).
But really a SCOTUS resolution of the Log Cabin Republicans case is years away so the fastest route seems now to be a repeal of the law, and if that happens the court case will become moot.

Are you sure you don't mean Article 1 Section 8?

It's also why defense appropriations bills are so critical.
Whereas Newt Gingrich shut down the federal government in 1995 with intransigence, undercutting the military's funding would have unspeakable consequences.

I invest in solar energy, EDLCs, robotics, and electric cars, some of the fastest growing technologies that will dominate the 21st century. I'm also banking that my underwear collection will accrue value as well![]()
