Reid now hold 7 point lead against Angle

Who are you calling a chump, I linked to a July 28th poll, 5 days ago, read the post before you get all excited. See post #116. Sheesh, ya try to help out and look what you get, nothing but abuse.

Ummmmmm, again, see above.

a week is a lifetime in politics.

let me do some hunting, speedy gonzales.

I remember YAF in college. We used to call it "Young Americans for Fascism."

Funny how the term facist has been co-opted by the left. In acuality, YAF stood for a strong national defense, smaller government, and a degree of libertarianism
that is missing from todays conservatives. Whereas classic facism utilized an omnipotent government using dictatorial powers to force unions and business to toe the line to accomplish the states agenda. Kinda like what Obama is trying to do now.

I've linked the Sharon Statement, the philosophicla treatise adopted at the forming of YAF at William F. Buckley's house in Sharon Connecticut. It is hardly facist in nature, and certainly not extremist except in comparison with anarchists of the left at the time.

When I was in college, Ollie North was the big hero of YAF.

YAFers rally to the support of . . . NSC staff member Lt. Colonel Oliver North.

The drive centered on a push to pardon Oliver North and generated tremendous response in support of this American hero.

Of course, good old Ollie North had no respect for the Constitution, drew up contingency plans for internment camps for political dissenters, suspending the Constitution. You know, typical libertarian concerns.

Fascism is a right-wing ideology, and fascism is not independent from socialist totalitarianism within the parameters you have outlined here.

You are really stretching to reach that. Facism is only different from Communism in that they embrace profits. The totalitarian tactics and the results of a top down economy are almost identical.

You aren't attempting to imply that all right wingers are facists are you? I'm sure you're not.

Actually, it's being aligned on your target. In case of self-defense, a responsible gun owner always hopes he won't have to shoot.

You are right of course, but you are nit picking. No one of any rationality want to kill someone, but self defense is sometimes necessary and statistics are quite clear that an armed assailant will prevail over an unarmed victim with monotonous regularity.

He doesn't seem to mind that. Or perhaps he's just too ignorant to know anything about the man. Che was also very homophobic and had gays sent to labor camps, even executed.

the day that a republican has the creds to speak on gay rights without being two faced is the day that pigs fly.

Sorry, but I don't support anyone one man who has sent gays to labor camps and executed the rest.

what does that have to do with harry reid, Ms Angle, OR the republican support of the GLBT's fight for equality in the law?

Closing Arguments for Federal Trial Challenging "Don't Ask, Don't Tell"

Friday, July 23, 2010
In what is the greatest legal test of "don't ask, don't tell" in recent years, U.S. District Court Judge Virginia A. Phillips, on Friday, heard closing arguments in a case brought by the Log Cabin Republicans.

Attorneys for the Log Cabin Republicans are asking Judge Phillips to rule that "don't ask, don't tell" is unconstitutional, specifically on the grounds that the policy violates the rights of gay members to free speech, due process and open association.

"Don't ask, don't tell" prohibts openly gay, lesbian and bisexual people from serving in the military. Legislatively, the U.S. House of Representatives voted on May 27th to repeal the policy, while the U.S. Senate is expected to consider the issue later this summer.

Judge Phillips could take weeks or longer to issue her ruling. If she rules in favor of the plaintiffs and the government appeals, attorneys will ask Judge Phillips to suspend "don't ask, don't tell" until the case is decided.

Republicans have no credibility on anything. Congressional Republicans are running without putting forth any new policies. Not a single Republican on this forum could put forth any reason why they vote Republican, what policies they advocate, or could identify any policies the Republicans have that they believe would move the country forward. All they have are tangential, silly comments that don't address the topic of the threads.

Don't bother talking sense into them. They believe every gay man should be a liberal kool aid drinker.

THEY believe that if you try to take a person's rights through legislation and party platform, that a party should never then get the vote of them thats losing those rights.

frankly, I think anyone that can't get that is just naive, or stupid, and her I tend to think they are pretending to be gay to cyber attack a gay site.

It has nothing to do with being naive or stupid as you say, some people can think outside of the box. Why should I vote for a person whom I disagree with on everything except something like gay marriage? Now that's what I would consider to be stupid. I make my decision after reviewing a number of issues, not just one single thing like most of the conservative bashers here.

IF you are gay, which I don't think you really are, you would understand that it is about a bit more than gay marriage.

Hate crime protection, anti sodomy laws that actually were used to imprison gays just for being gay are still on the books in some states, and Equal housing protections, the ability to visit ones partner as they die in the hospital, The ability to inherit the things when a partner dies that Both of you worked to own....

LIFE AS A GAY MAN!!!!

if you cannot understand wht that means, then you have not lived life as a gay man.

First do no harm

If a party can follow this rule for me as a human being I will consider their candidates.

Until then I will not and I will use every breath in my body to make sure that MANY MANY other gay people feel and do the same thing.

Guess what? I've never voted for anyone who disagrees with you on those things.

Hate to tell you this, but everyone here has firm beliefs that aren't budging. No one is swaying anyone's political opinions. It sounds like most people would prefer this forum just be a liberal echo chamber.

It's not that different from a black person voting for white supremacy in the 60s.

"you know, I really think I should be considered equal, but I really see myself agreeing with the conservatives in the south on other issues, so I think I'll vote to continue my subjugation to the white race".
