In 2012, 699,202 legal induced abortions were reported to CDC from 49 reporting areas. The abortion rate for 2012 was 13.2 abortions per 1,000 women aged 15–44 years, and the abortion ratio was 210 abortions per 1,000 live births.
Compared with 2011, the total number and ratio of reported abortions for 2012 decreased 4%, and the abortion rate decreased 5%. Additionally, from 2003 to 2012, the number, rate, and ratio of reported abortions decreased 17%, 18%, and 14%, respectively. Given the large decreases in the total number, rate, and ratio of reported abortions from 2011 to 2012, in combination with decreases that occurred during 2008–2011, all three measures reached historic lows.
Women in their twenties accounted for the majority of abortions in 2012 and throughout the period of analysis. The majority of abortions in 2012 took place early in gestation: 91.4% of abortions were performed at ≤13 weeks’ gestation; a smaller number of abortions (7.2%) were performed at 14–20 weeks’ gestation, and even fewer (1.3%) were performed at ≥21 weeks’ gestation. In 2012, 20.8% of all abortions were medical abortions. The percentage of abortions reported as early medical abortions increased 10% from 2011 to 2012. Source: MMWR. 2015;64(10).

A total of 827,609 abortions were reported to CDC for 2007. Among the 45 reporting areas that provided data every year during 1998--2007, a total of 810,582 abortions (97.9% of the total) were reported for 2007; the abortion rate was 16.0 abortions per 1,000 women aged 15--44 years, and the abortion ratio was 231 abortions per 1,000 live births. Compared with 2006, the total number and rate of reported abortions decreased 2%, and the abortion ratio decreased 3%. Reported abortion numbers, rates, and ratios were 6%, 7%, and 14% lower, respectively, in 2007 than in 1998.

^ This kind of raving is clear proof of a disturbed mind.
Whether the rate is falling is not the point. It is still an enormous number. And yes, Obama is in favor of abortion, Bush was against it. The hypocrisy is in Obama pretending to cry over the deaths of children when favors large number of them.In 2007, under BushCo. there were:
So you see, once again, Benvolio's 'facts' are just lies.
The abortion rate has actually fallen since 1998 for a number of reasons....and is definitely much lower than under BushCo.
And as usual, none of us can understand the hypocrisy because he keeps pointing out that black women have more abortions than any other race and he indicates that they and other minorities are likely to vote for Democrats and handouts.
I think though, that Benvolio and his Klan over at Stormfront are fixated on some image of Obama personally dragging white Republican women into abortion clinics and forcing them to have late term abortions so that he can sell the body parts.
Would that be pretty accurate, Benvolio?

And you reject any measures to protect children who are alive right now.
That's callous hypocrisy.

Liberals always think if they change the words it changes the substance. We are not killing babies, only aborting fetuses; not socialism but single payer.Of course it wouldn't be the point for you. It doesn't fit your narrative.
The fact that abortion is legal in the US and a president has no say in the right of women to choose would mean nothing to you.
Obama is crying over children, not some zygote that is not a child, no matter what you may personally feel.
You and the rest of your racist lynch mob are just frantic that the black guy shed a tear for the right reasons, instead of the drunken crocodile tears of Boehner.
Nonsense. I favor giving jobs to Americans so they can raise their children. And stop paying people to have illegitimate children and raise them in single parent welfare families.
Obama is in favor of abortion

The problem here isn't children in a single parent home on welfare, the problem is that we live in a world that needs this and that people like you only see these families as leeches on society. You are a complete hypocrite, you don't favor abortion because it is "murder" but you would rather them starve on the street then give them any assistance. You are as much as a murderer as you claim the people who are in favor of it are.
Also I really wish people would stop replying to benvolio, it just proves how useless the ignore function is on this site.

Liberals always think if they change the words it changes the substance. We are not killing babies, only aborting fetuses; not socialism but single payer.
Yet Republicans (including former Speaker and GOP Presidential hopeful Newt Gingrich) continue to call this President and Democrats “baby killers”, especially when they are fighting to make contraception something that insurance does NOT cover. This Republican argument makes no sense, and is only used to drum up the emotions of people who aren’t aware of the facts. The facts are that birth control and sex education are the two proven methods to reduce abortion. Democrats champion both, while Republicans obstruct and defund both.
Is there any thread that can stay on topic? It seems that a certain individual will always run them into the ditch. No matter the topic, it always comes back to being the fault of Democrats, Liberals, abortion and immigration. Every damn thread I've seen, that's what happens. In other forums I frequent, that person would be banned. Why? Because they never post anything of substance. It's 100% trolling.
The sincerity or lack thereof of the presidents tears is a legitimate question in this thread, first raised by others.
Translation: you can't rationalise with someone who's obsessed with something. Kids are the same.
Take away their toys and let them cry until they grow up and get over it, I say.
About a million babies a year are aborted under Obama and he vetoes or threatens to veto any attempt to limit the number. It is hard to take his crocodile tears seriously.
