Just received a CNN news alert that she has died.

Hospital in Tucson is now saying she's in surgery. Reports are conflicting whether she has died or not.

THIS is the shit that Sharron Angle was hoping for. "SECOND AMENDMENT REMEDIES"...

Jesus Christ, what a political hellhole Arizona is sinking into. Of course Angle was from an adjoining state, but a LOT of Arizonans surely listened to her.

As you said in another thread BP, maybe it's time to start charging people like Sharron Angle, etc. with treason.

Some of the speech in recent months, I think, falls outside the rubric of free speech. Sharron Angle was clearly suggesting that disgruntled people should go out and kill Democrats and progressives.

This morning, in an unspeakable tragedy, a number of Americans were shot in Tuscon, Arizona, at a constituent meeting with Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords. And while we are continuing to receive information, we know that some have passed away, and that Representative Giffords is gravely wounded.

We do not yet have all the answers. What we do know is that such a senseless and terrible act of violence has no place in a free society. I ask all Americans to join me and Michelle in keeping Representative Giffords, the victims of this tragedy, and their families in our prayers.

The weapon was a semi-automatic. There were still rounds in the clip when he was tackled. He is in custody, has invoked his rights, and is not talking.

There is another person of interest. Law enforcement do know who he is, but they are not releasing any information about him.

The suspect's name was not named, but the profile matches what we've seen with Jared Lee Loughner. His myspace page has been taken down, but his YouTube channel is still up.

Judge Roll was there only because he stopped by to say hello to Rep. Giffords.

There is a suspicious package being investigated at Giffords' headquarters.

it's also sick how the lefties are using this for political gain. This had nothing to do with the tea party as far as we know right now. If anything, research on the shooter shows he's something of a schizophrenic anarchist, who listed Mein Kampf and the Communist Manifesto as his favorite books (not exactly tea party literature). one of his old friends tweeted that he was a liberal hippie type. now I don't know if he was a left winger or right winger, but let's not jump to conclusions that sarah palin and glenn beck incited this.

instead of knee jerking to help your side why not mourn those who lost their lives (including a republican federal judge who was buddies with john mccain and george bush sr) and a 9 year old girl.

he was a nutcase. he listened to people in a political movement and suddenly he was a murderer.

this discussion has been a long time coming. The nation needs to get back to real media and real personal responsibility.
