Welcome to Trump's America, where anything goes it seems.

The Republican candidate for Montana’s congressional seat slammed a Guardian reporter to the floor on the eve of the state’s special election, breaking his glasses and shouting, “Get the hell out of here.”

Ben Jacobs, a Guardian political reporter, was asking Greg Gianforte, a tech millionaire running for the seat vacated by Ryan Zinke, about the Republican healthcare plan when the candidate allegedly “body-slammed” the reporter.

Gianforte will probably just buy his way out of it. ](*,) *%%*

It's as though these creaky, elite republican men have anger problems. What's their emotional damage? Not used to being questioned?

Gianforte's like Rod Blum, who couldn't deal with a reporter just a few weeks ago. At least Blum didn't assault anybody.

Someone on my Facebook said he has been charged. I can't find it in the news anywhere though.

It probably won't change the election results, because I understand that most of the ballots have been absentee/already mailed in. That's supposed to be more than those who are likely to vote today.

I thought the Republicans in the Montana legislature managed to scrap the mail-in vote thing for this year...because they wanted to be sure that Democrats wouldn't have an equal chance?

I am sure Trump is applauding this behind the scenes, with his appraising of Duterte and not saying a peep when Erdogan had his goons attack American Citizens, he condones these types of actions.

I will call a landslide for Gianforte because of this.

A Man's Man.

Making America Great Again.

“In the past, he has encouraged his supporters to boycott certain newspapers, singled out a reporter in a room to point out that he was outnumbered, and even made a joke out of the notion of choking a news writer,” editors wrote. ‘These are not things we can continue to brush off.”

So how could you brush them off in the first place? Why is the press so often a willing enabler for sociopaths grasping at political power?

"A statement by campaign spokesman Shane Scanlon blamed Jacobs for the altercation, saying that he “entered the office without permission, aggressively shoved a recorder in Greg’s face, and began asking badgering questions”.

“Jacobs was asked to leave,” the statement reads. “After asking Jacobs to lower the recorder, Jacobs declined. Greg then attempted to grab the phone that was pushed in his face. Jacobs grabbed Greg’s wrist, and spun away from Greg, pushing them both to the ground."

Yes, we should totally trust his spokesmans word on this. Even though the journalist have people backing up his story and this candidate is known to have a temper. Keep justifying authoritarian actions by your political party though.

On the tape, Gianforte cannot be heard asking Jacobs to lower the recorder. And Scanlon’s description was challenged by a Fox News Channel reporter who witnessed the scuffle and described Gianforte throwing Jacobs to the ground, grabbing his neck, striking him and exclaiming, “I’m sick and tired of this!”

“Nothing in the campaign statement is accurate except my name and my employer,” Jacobs said in a text message to a Washington Post reporter.

And your source is?

You should know by now that, when you quote, you supply the source.

And that is why the reporter was charged.

Oh wait.

Obviously Jacobs was doing more than simply asking a question.

Not even a good try Benny..

The only thing that is obvious is that Gianforte's SS man Shane Scanlon is lying.....just like Trump's SS man Sean Spicer always does....

There were witnesses...FOX NEWS!!!! for poetic justice...and it wasn't the reporter who was charged..it was the thug you guys want to send to DC to join some of your other thugs....
