Resident Evil 5 [MERGED]

Re: What Would You Put In A Resident Evil 5 game ?

Better control scheme. It ruined the game for me.

We didn't even finish the first section of chapter 1 and I'm ready to trade the game in.

I had a rought time when I started getting used to the controls, but for the most part after a short while I got into the game and didn't think twice about the controls.

Me and my cousin played it all day Thursday on our PS3s and made it to chapter 5-2. I have to say I really do like this game alot. It's definitely not as scary as the previous installments (I still have yet to beat RE4) but I don't think that's a bad thing.

Playing solo and playing co-op give you two different experiences though. I love co-op. We laughed so hard at our deaths because the other person wasn't paying attention. So many accidental deaths too. Haha. I can't wait to finish it this weekend.

And Chris is a meathead. Give me Wesker and that sexy british accent any day. ..|
Haha.

The boyfriend and I spent almost all Thursday evening - Friday morning, then Friday evening try to get through it. We're up to the last boss battle, essentially, but had to stall until Sunday due to work for him and essays for me.

Although I find the game enjoyable, I believe Resident Evil has been FAR to bastardized from what it was from my childhood for me to continue with the series past this. I mean, just because fast zombies got more popular in pop culture, suddenly Resident Evil has to adopt that too?

And before someone says it's more challenging, I do have to say: The cereberus, hunters (Alpha, Beta, and Gamma), Mr. X, Tyrants, and Nemesis were all more than compensation for weaker common zombies.

Other than that, my second major complaint is the over-usage of 'One hit and you're dead' villains in the game. Sure, a guy with a chainsaw and some of those freaky bug creatures should be able to inflict a lot of damage, but a one hit? If you get caught reloading, like my boyfriend and I were a few times, it can get a little ridiculous.

I like the game, but it's not Resident Evil as far as I'm concerned.

*Oh, and distancing shooting with a pistol is practically impossible. Damned laser sights!

Resident Evil 5 is the end of the current storyline. It wraps up all the events.

Sure Resident Evil 6 has been announced, but it will feature an all new story and new characters.

I wonder if there is a demo for it.

The only resident evil game I ever played was one for gamecube. 4 I think. And I remember this demonic looking shark thing or something and it scared the shit out of me.

I hear the series really is good though. I should try getting into it.

If you have a PS3 you can download the RE5 demo for free.

I don't have a 360 so I don't know if it has a demo too.

I'd assume so...

Generally demos come out for 360 before PS3. I know we got the burnout paradise demo first.

But anyways thanks. That's great. Now I can try out this game :D

Sorry it dissapointed you Pianist.

I read your post and I think that was the one I played. I do remember how interesting it was.

Games change alot over time. So that original atmosphere or environment that you liked probably did change alot in this game. All you can really do is replay the old games or hope that the next game will revist it. The concept is still there though.

The wii-mote has spoiled me to though. I liked playing VC and Fighting games with the wii-mote so much more then a normal controller for some games :(

And I love Boxing on the wii. Everything else fails..

Hmm, it did leave a few things up in the air though that I wonder if they're ever going back to.

I have to agree with that point. It only wrapped up one thing really...there's quite a bit still up in the air. If that was their conclusion to everything involving Chris, Leon, Ada, etc. then there is quite a bit they leave you to decide.

Since this is the end of Wesker's story I would have assumed Ada would have some involvement, or at least a mention. She was working against him in the 4th game afterall, and there's still all the stuff with S-Corporation and The Agency that they didn't tie up.

I also feel like Leon and Ada have another game (or at least a movie) in them. Same for Claire, who they've built up into a pretty interesting character, but then she didn't really do anything in Degeneration.

What I'd like to know is by what means Wesker aquired the Plaga sample. Obviously it wasn't from Ada. At least, obvious if you played her minigame and learned that she was in fact not working with or for Wesker. She sent him something other than the Plaga, though we don't know what. I'd like to know what she sent him. Did he take the Plaga she originally had? Did he kill her or at least try to when he discovered she really wasn't helping him?

There are just too many questions. Sure, everything with Chris, Jill and Wesker could be called 'wrapped up'. But there are a lot of other characters out there. What of Sherry Birkin who, last I heard of her, was imprisoned by Wesker and the Agency? That's a story of Claire's that I don't believe was wrapped up, as Claire promised they would see each other again.

I'd also hoped we'd hear at least a little more from Rebecca Chambers and Billy Coen. According to a file in RE5, she is still alive. Billy Coen has never been heard from since his appearance, and I find it hard to believe he wouldn't be hunted down because of all he knows. I could see a story where they catch Rebecca in an attempt to get Billy, leading to a battle where they team up again to fight all new BOWs.

I dunno...I just think when you have all these easily recognizeable characters, you don't leave their stories hanging. You also don't leave their potential untapped. That's why saying RE5 wraps it all up bothers me. They didn't even bother mentioning how Wesker got the Plaga, and that's rather important. I don't want to find out Ada is dead...heck, we don't even know currently what her true motives have been. She's an enigma really. You never can tell who's side she is really on. Now we have no idea what happened to her. Alive? Dead? Brutally murdered by Wesker?

I hope they do SOMETHING to at least tie up the numerous loose ends.

i would love to play with you guys on xbox. send me your gammertag

So I downloaded Slayer/Team Slayer mode today. It's pretty awesome.

It's funny. I played Team Slayer with a group of 4 -- 2 vs. 2. The opposing team got SOOOO pissed at me that after the game ended, they kicked me out of the session. Apparently, I was shooting them too much, which is weird because that's the point of the game. Maybe if I had a headset, I could have told them that, but they just kept bitching. Anyway, I would highly recommend the download, just be aware of babies :)
