Op-Ed Resign from Office Mr. Vice President

I have heard that explanation Spiff. Me thinks the reaction is more the republicans smarting over all that they do say that is racist or hateful towards groups of Americans.

I just checked Joe Wilson didn't resign after saying ignorant shit, George Allen didn't resign after Macaca so i imagine Joe Biden won't run again. There all better.

My bad.

Misplaced outrage about Biden. I should accept Biden as you do. He's set a new low standard for vice-presidents and that's a good thing -- anything Biden does is good --- even excellent.

I love the guy. He has no idea what state he's in, what he says, how he says it. However, there's nothing wrong with that -- he's a smart man. We should all try to emulate him. It's a standard we all can look up to.

He makes those funny remarks about indian convenience store clerks -- ain't that cute, so funny.

He's the best -- and it's a big fuckin' deal.

LOL... like I said as soon as your party decides resignation is apropos over a saying racist ignorant things I will be the first one calling for Biden's head... mmmmk?

Joe Biden is a good man with an amazing personal story - family story - losing his wife and child as he was about to be sworn in as a Freshmen senator

I enjoyed him immensely in his Dem primary debates - always a good listen

great foreign policy credentials - which is why BO picked him

he made quite a stir during the Primaries when he "praised" Obama as follows:

"I mean, you got the first mainstream African-American who is articulate and bright and clean and a nice-looking guy," Biden said. "I mean, that's a storybook, man."

the problem now as I see it is that it's very unlikely that this remark was not scripted or planned - it's a really stupid reference for one and another example of class warfare and demagoguery

this is the norm now

this is Biden doing Obama's bidding

as harry reid did

it's an admin that will do anything/say anything to win

Only Just Believe is willing to call if for what it is - sad that just a single progressive voice has the capacity to be balanced

The Dead love it - doubling down - praising it in fact - that's what it's come to

OBAMA TEAM GOOD
REPUBLICANS SHIT

repeat 10x

a sad state of affairs

Joe needs the job btw

can't wait for Ryan v Biden debates - I think it will be a very good watch

There is a hint of irony that Joe Biden is to Barack Obama as Alfred is to Batman

wow - off the rails again i see

George Allen was a candidate - and lost - due in part (largely) to this comment

Joe Wilson is a dolt - not a national figure - and his actions were embarrassing to himself and the congress

Joe Biden is the VICE PRESIDENT of the U.S.

it's like comparing Harry Reid's comments to Allen West - one is the Majority Leader of the senate, the other a Freshmen congressman

it's nice to try to do so but it's clearly not the same thing - if you're looking at it fairly which it appears u have no interest it doing

Listen Chance, Biden is like having a crazy uncle locked up in the basement of the White House. He gets out accidentally once in a while and he gives us hours of comedic relief. Don't forget all them Indians working in the 7-11's and Dunkin Donuts in Delaware!

I'm not supporting anything like calling for his resignation. We all know Joe will say just about anything outrageous, including the occasional truth. (Then again,a broken clock is correct twice a day) Yet, what a fucking phony.... who has created his own dynasty of insiders. While decrying the 1%. Nice work if you can get it.

I'm imagining a poster board in the white house

sorta like a superbowl pool

who of my surrogates can say the most outrageous thing?

atta boy Harry :)

way to go Joe :)

that Stephanie is something isn't she?

Debbie ? Debbie ? your turn

wonder how Pres. Obama is paying out on these - no one does this shit for free

Quote from President Obama:"I like Coca-cola.".

Outrage from the right wing: "Obama is at war with Pepsi!".

Quote from President Obama: "It's a beautiful sunny day.".

Outrage from the right wing: "Obama is glad there is no rain for the farmers and the drought hit the heartland because he's secretly a communist / socialist and wants everyone dependent on the government!!"

Same old shit, different day.

You know. All this partisan outrage is stupid. Both parties fuck up regularly and America is going in the wrong direction. Arguing about who said bullshit today really isn't going to change the fact that they never (no one in Washington) really get shit done. Bush was bad. Obama isn't great...dont get me started on congress. I only really pay attention to politics these days for humour. Holding Washington accountable rarely works. The only person to call on is yourself these days - not politicians or the government. What good is there in squabbling over what Biden said as an offhand remark? It is not going to undo the failures of the legislative branch or the executive within the past two (decades to be honest).

- end rant. (I really couldn't help it )

just saw the clip

loved how he said "Y'All" with a very specific intonation

it was planned

PRES. HOPE AND CHANGE - LOL

Everyone notice Uncle Joe's nice tan?

Has he been on vacation?

Where did he go?

He's darker than Boehner.

Is there a tanning bed in the basement of the White House? I can hear Joey making a joke that Obama doesn't need to use it.

Do the partisans on the left care to discuss and not demagogue the issues? No. What's the point of this whole forum? Do the partisans on the right care? Probably not. I guarantee though if Romney wins, we haven't seen the unhinged shrieking that will come from the halls of the oh so reasonable ,rational, smarter than every else left wing . If Obama wins, hosannas from the left and harsh to unhinged reaction on the right. And Chris Matthew's leg will tingle, too!

Chance, you can be snarky and spunky and I love that but I don't know how you have the energy to come back to deal with all the dogmatic ideologues who think they know everything.I just don't have it in me. People don't come here(for the most part)to learn or engage.... I think next election cycle there will be a new party of the center in the process of being formed that will try to take back America from the hard right AND the arrogant left. And I can't wait to sign up.

A viable, honest new party would be a good idea -- but there is too much power in both parties to allow that.

Who would be the leader?

What ideals do you see it promoting?

+1.
Co-signed. (or in Washingtonese - cosponsored.)

snarky and spunky and bursting with love (only luv will get that)

i chalk it up to not so clean living, watching/reading outlets from both sides - Morning Joe is the best and I'm back to listening to some of it every morning on XM Sirius

I recommend it for all as for the most part, it provides a reasonable discourse

sadly, that balance is not evident here and trending worse

i believe the president has frankly set a tone and the inmates follow, emboldened - "if he can do it, why can't i"

there is no policing by the president of his off the rail flunkies and none here either

I think Paul Ryan's VP selection is a really good thing - if the media and the dems will allow a real discussion on entitlements to take place, perhaps some hard decisions can be made that are not about votes from constituents but about doing what's best for the country

sadly, winning is the only thing that matters and demagoguery is frankly an easy play

hang in sausy - mets in 2013 !!!

and no - no resignation for biden - what would he do ? ;)

A centrist party will not exist. The money isn't there. A try would be the same as the 99% who flashed and poofed out. I did post an article about a centrist or moderate party in Centexfarmer's thread about "Is it me?"

The idea is romantic and loverly but has no feet.

I wouldn't presume to say what has been absorbed by participating forum members.

There is no saying there hasn't been any "learning," or that it is definite there is failure for being "engaged" in these discussions. The fact that people have shown up, and continue to be present, can discredit what you feel.

As for the "hard right" and the "arrogant left," I take it you could label yourself a "moderate" or "centrist" (I haven't kept track of your postings). Well, the policies in Washington, D.C. have been rightwing; and some would say to a point of fascism. On the matter of the "arrogant left," I'd love for you to list some liberal policies that have gone through that were not necessarily a manifestation of social change.
