Rick Perry: Asshole

174,259 dislikes

Don't forget to let Rick Perry know what you think of his fucked up view of the world.

I am patiently waiting to see how moderator Jackoroe will defend Rick Perry or downplay the blatant homophobia in this ad.

Maybe you should hold your breath while you're waiting?

Well, former Dallas Log Cabin Republicans president, Rob Schlein, still proudly supports Rick Perry.

Anyone who lies like that isn't worth listening to.

Obama is not a socialist. He isn't "weak on Israel", he just expects them to grow up and behave like an adult nation, especially to stop stealing land from powerless people. "Anti-business"? That one's worth arguing, except he caves in to the giant corporations every chance he gets -- like the so-called socialist health plan, which is a crony capitalist corporatist extortion scheme.

Being that Dallas is my hometown, everyone in the Gay Bars knows that Rob Schlein is never wrong.

Which is why all six or so members of the Dallas Chapter of Log Cabin Republicans will be the only six or so Texas Gays voting for that Son of a Bitch. ..|

Rick Perry, like most all Republicans, is a "Christian" in name only.

In New Testament terms, he's a Pharisee (pre-Resurrection) or a legalist (post-Resurrection). Neither is highly regarded by either Jesus or the Apostles.

If you believe this ad is shocking you've never visited a conservative forum.

I'm just surprised they'd actually air something like this, especially at this point in time.

And the Internet brings out the worst in humanity.

And puts it on display for people who otherwise wouldn't have encountered it to be horrified.

I know it hardly counts as a trend, but the rolls of registered Republicans has declined slightly and libertarians and independents are up.

If just, say, ten million Republicans across the country would do that....

Perry has some staffers with ties to GOProud and the Log Cabin Republicans. They may have objected to the ad, but they're sticking with Perry.

It just so happens that several members of Perry's campaign staff have worked to advance LGBT causes inside the GOP. Liz Mair, a consultant to the Texas governor, serves on the advisory board of the group GOProud. And Fabrizio has done polling for the Log Cabin Republicans in addition to urging lawmakers to reconsider their approach to the culture wars and embrace basic fairness for gay Americans on the issue of marriage. He was considered an ally by pro-gay rights conservatives.

It was politically good for him.

Perry needs a religiofreak breakthrough. If nominated, he will backpedal on it in the general campaign.

I don't see a problem with Christmas. It's very ubiquitous. We have Christmas trees in our courthouses and in my office. I think there is a general sensitivity for majority members to emphasize their own heritage too much, and that is the cause of the Christmas controversy, but xenocentrism and homocentrism are negatives too. Right-wing Christians also fear syncretism.

Christianity was born in a syncretistic society, and it flourished. All these supposed Christians are a batch of cowards of little faith.

I have to agree with those that have said its frightening that someone that is running for office could actually spew so much hatred. Between Bachmann and Santorum - I didn't think it possible that there was room for another one to be even *more* ignorant, bigoted, and hateful. That said - even with his pandering to a religious extreme - which I don't know about the rest of you, but I was raised that religion isn't supposed to have anything to do with government - its the separation of church and state isn't it? - I can't help thinking the overwhelming majority of people - even conservative - could do anything else except write him off as a wing nut at this point. Still scary though.

unpopular opinion i know, but rick perry is kinda good looking. not that i agree with his policies.

Ha Ha Ha

Too funny.

What is the name of that syndrome where people have inappropriate emotional or intellectual responses to an event?

And this is the man that some of you would vote for as president if he won the nomination.

Fascinating wording...

"The gays can openly serve in the military..."

"But, our kids can't openly celebrate Christmas..." (Or pray in schools... Last time I checked, you can pray anywhere you'd like)

As if to imply none of "those gays" could ever be our children,"

A flawed, short-sighted concept from a man who shares many of those same attributes.

He is such a sleazy piece of shit

And a stupid cunt

I've just been waiting for the religious shit to surface big and for the homo card to be played.

And now watch.

It will be a race to the finish to see who can be more homo-hating than the other guy/gal.

Cue the apologists for Perry.....

There. Fixed it for the frail ones who didn't see the equation between projectile vomiting and the shit spewing from Perry's mouth. It ain't about tattoos.
