Rather for against the death penalty I wouldn't take lightly the job of killing anyone, it is a somber moment even if it is good riddance. I don't see anything to be cheering or applauding and especially if one claims to be a servant to the Lord.

Besides one thing about the death penalty I don't get. Everyone dies, and no one picks the time, place, or how. It just sort of ill will desends on all some at 15 some at 89 but for sure killing someone doesn't do anything that won't happen to the executioner maybe on the way home?
The real fucking hell is being locked up with no control of your life and no future in a concrete cell of hell. Maybe for a long time. ... try it for 16 hrs and you will know that 16 yrs must be real punishment.

Long prison sentences are cruel and unusual punishment.

Statistically, better than a dozen of those executed were innocent. By evidence, at least one was definitely innocent. More than a few were mentally impaired, as well.

Yet all you could say was how nice it is that all those nasty people had been put to death.

I think we've veered away from the bigger issue of this topic, and that is the fact that the Republican audience cheered and shouted "Yeah!" for uninsured Americans to die of health problems. This is a larger problem in the psychosis of the party that is both twisted and disturbing.
