Re: Congrats Rihanna on your 8th and 9th Grammy nominations

it seems like Beyoncé got nominated for like 100 Grammys.*

Yes 10 in all but dont worry its all for show.

The majority of those nominations are fraudulent so no way in hell weave will be winning 10...maybe not even 1.

Song of the Year and Album of the Year are a joke.

Female Vocals another fraud because Single Ladies in no is an example of superb vocals.

Halo was not the record of the year by any stretch of the imagination.

And so on and so on.

Big deal, it seems like Beyoncé got nominated for like 100 Grammys.*

It is a BIG DEAL you hater because Rihanna did not have an album out so use some common sense.

Ofcourse weave would have more nominations because weave had an album out. Rihanna didnt.

It is an accomplishment to get 2 nominations with no album when other people dont even have 1 with an album out.

Check back next year when Rated R gets a truck load of nominations.

Re: Congrats Rihanna on your 8th and 9th Grammy nominations

Just like this horse manure of a song is no example of superb vocals.

You arent even trying anymore?

Why do i even bother. Put the pie in your own face.

Umbrella never got a vocal nomination.

It got Record and Song and Rap/collabo

Get your facts str8 ok.

___

Its so unfortunate and pathetic that you are so obsessed with weave that you honestly feel that Single Ladies was vocally outstanding and deserves to win in that category.

Re: Congrats Rihanna on your 8th and 9th Grammy nominations

Goodnight

Re: Congrats Rihanna on your 8th and 9th Grammy nominations

Yes because a Grammy is all about personality and not the actual music right...

Re: Congrats Rihanna on your 8th and 9th Grammy nominations

I set you up for that one..you are welcome.

You know very well that Umbrella was very deserving.

Rihanna - HARD, First hit of 2010?

I think this song will make it big pretty soon!

Love Rihanna!

Re: Rihanna - HARD, First hit of 2010?

Ya I love me some Rihanna :)

Re: Rihanna - HARD, First hit of 2010?

The song is awesome, one of her best ever!

Re: Rihanna - HARD, First hit of 2010?

Are you kidding me with this? Hard is effin amazing it better tear down the charts.

Re: Rihanna - HARD, First hit of 2010?

It's already pretty big now. They show the video 2-3 times a night on MTV.

Re: Rihanna - HARD, First hit of 2010?

It's your basic hip hop/R&B bragging song.

Re: Rihanna - HARD, First hit of 2010?

EARLY in the morning. The problem is, they play the same 20 or so videos every night.

Re: Rihanna - HARD, First hit of 2010?

They play the same TV shows over and over, too, but no one ever bitches about that...

Lex

Re: Rihanna - HARD, First hit of 2010?

You know what else I hate? MTV plays the same damn shows over and over.

Re: Rihanna - HARD, First hit of 2010?

At first, I thought she sings, "Where them Black girls at, where them Black girls at, where they at, where they at, where they at..."

Apparently, it's "Where them bloggers at" LOL

Re: Rihanna - HARD, First hit of 2010?

Rated R is one of my favorite albums out right now. Nice album to workout to or listen while driving to work. "Hard" is one my favorite tracks from the album, love the abrasive party beat.

At first, I thought she sings, "Where them Black girls at, where them Black girls at, where they at, where they at, where they at..."

Apparently, it's "Where them bloggers at" LOL

I thought the same thing for a long while as well. It was a major WTF moment, I was asking myself: "Why call out black girls specifically?"

Rihanna

So, I'm a Rihanna hater, sort of.

I like SOME of her songs, BUT I feel like she doesn't have very much talent at all, and that the majority of her songs are so simple that almost anyone could sing them, and I feel like she's the popular girl that runs around with all the boys but mostly just to get what she wants out of them - popularity.

Also, I feel like when she's in a duet with someone, it's because she's just not good enough to make it interesting on her own.

Agree? :)

(I'm totally serious)

Re: Rihanna

Mhm I totally agree.

Like I said, pair her up with someone so she gains some of their talent just by being there, because she's not good enough on her own. She's only interesting because she's from the Barbados and her hair.

Re: Rihanna

I personally like her. She may not be the best singer in the world, but she knows how to sell. ANd honestly these days the music industry doesn't make its money on the "Best Singers in the world" it makes its money on what sells. And Rihanna knows how to sell it. Her music is relatable and fun to dance to.

Agreed. It's never been about being the best singer in the world anyone, but it certainly is not about being the best now. It's simple economics: Rihanna can sell music and people will buy her music. There's a demand for her as an artist and Def Jam supplies the product, Rihanna.

As Danncer said, her songs are relateable and catchy, so people will listen to her music before, let's say, a Jennifer Hudson. If you have an issue with her popularity, take it up with her fans. I do not care for her as a singer, but she does have catchy hooks, great production, and she receives marketing and promotion. That's all she needs.
