With explosive sales in their first week of digital release, Rihanna's "Umbrella" and Shop Boyz' "Party Like a Rockstar" rocket to the peak of the Billboard Hot 100. "Umbrella" soars 42-1 with 277,000 digital sales, the highest debut week sum since Nielsen SoundScan began tracking downloads in 2003. Meanwhile, "Party Like a Rockstar" flies 52-2 thanks to sales of 173,000 digital downloads.
For Rihanna, this is the second Hot 100 chart-topper of her young career, following "SOS" in 2006.

Rihanna yesterday notched up yet another record – this time on the world’s biggest download application, iTunes.
She has so far scored 276 000 downloads and counting with her newest hit Umbrella, after only a week on iTunes. It is the biggest debut in iTunes’ six-year history, according to the download site, and beat out Shakira’s Hips Don’t Lie and Justin Timberlake’s Sexy Back.
iTunes was released as a McIntosh-only application in 2001, and was made available to Windows two years later.
Umbrella, is also the No. 1 entry on the Billboard Hot 100 and Billboard Pop 100 – giving the Bajan singer her sixth Top 10 record in just two-and-a-half years.

Rihanna is set to headline the Tokyo leg of Live Earth – a series of concerts being held around the world to raise awareness of climate change.
The July 7 concert will feature her and American rock group Linkin Park sharing the stage with a host of Japanese acts.
Umbrella is No. 1 on the United Kingdom singles chart, while Linkin Park is at No 2 on the UK album chart with Minutes To Midnight.
