The civil rights movement was full of firehoses, sit-ins, governors blocking schools to blacks, and other flashpoints.

New Jersey has a law forbidding the facility. New Jersey has a National Guard answerable to the governor. New Jersey has State Police who serve the governor.

Seize the damn facility and detain the staff who are running it. If they put up resistance, blockade it and make the fed show up with force of arms so that the CITIZENRY can see the police state.

And if people die, then we might just make the evening news and displace a Kardashian in a trial from a crime nine years ago or some sports figure.

All these governors and Congressmen keep acting like it's enough to go on record. It's not. The GOP will talk about being worried so the press walks away, and then they'll do nothing and block any Democratic bill to fix it.

A coalition of state governors telling Trump, "No" would be a nice move. Sure, it would be primarily blue, but you'd get a number of red states just because so many on the right love telling the federal government to FO.

What would happen if the five biggest blue states all passed laws forbidding any law enforcement being masked, and send sheriffs and marshals to arrest federal agents who violated that?

This is the perfect time to get into politics. You can be a while collar criminal and collect a government salary. The Supreme Court has said that politicians can accept "tips", as long as they don't do it in a "quid pro quo". And the Trump Administration has gotten rid of the FBI agents and the DOJ lawyers who prosecute corrupt politicians. If George Santos would have just run in 2024, he would still be in Congress!

They previously shut down the units that investigated foreign payments to American politicians.

The FBI and DOJ are pretty much just pursuing immigrants. You can commit all sorts of white collar crime and there's no one around who will investigate or prosecute you.
