Rise of Fascism in the United States [SPLIT]

I think that people who read a lot of information from different sources and understand history know how this game works. The best way to control people is through a flood of nisinformation and lies. Trump does it everyday and now we see megalomaniacs like Musk take up the charge while what used to be actual journalism aids the liars by either both sidsing everything or avoiding coming out and telling their readers or listeners when someone is just fucking lying.

Journalists and others who fled RRRzzzia have been telling Americans for years how the post Soviet regime regained autocratic control by using the same KGB misinformation tactics under Putin.

And American right wingers have done the same thing over the last century as well on many occasions to justify witch hunts, invasions, wars etc.

And this is where we are.

We let it happen. For a false notion of "free speech", we tolerate this massive deluge of disinformation without consequence, to the point where it has now taken over, and is destroying our democracy.
Fascism is winning because we are too afraid to call a lie, a lie, and to hold liars accountable.

"His method is to poison the channels of public information"

We were warned many years ago. We are right here, right now.

Henry Wallace 2.jpg

If you don't know who Henry Wallace was, he was Franklin Roosevelt's VP during World War II until Truman took over in 1945.

It was all over for good when the US allowed Fox News to lie. That led to a cascade of misinformation pouring out of people like Alex Jones et al.

Meanwhile, another one of Trump's enablers in his first term who somehow came to the realization of how evil he is after she supported so many of his policies and enabling legislation...thinks that she and others are able to stop the march to corporate directed fascism they helped set in motion.

Liz and her other 'truth tellers' are now likely targets for silencing, one way or another.

From Peter Morley:

The White House Financial Disclosure page has been WIPED. The U.S. Office of Government Ethics mandates public financial disclosures for high-level federal officials through the OGE Form 278e promoting transparency and ensuring compliance with the Ethics in Government Act of 1978.

More secrecy, less public or government oversight.

And yeah..That was Musk definitely giving a NAZI salute at the Capital One Nuremburg rally yesterday. He pulled it in pretty quick...but watching the tape, he wasn't waving at anyone, it was instinctive and telling.View attachment 2879815
From the Anti-Defamation League:

“It seems that @elonmusk made an awkward gesture in a moment of enthusiasm, not a Nazi salute, but again, we appreciate that people are on edge,” the ADL wrote. “In this moment, all sides should give one another a bit of grace, perhaps even the benefit of the doubt, and take a breath. This is a new beginning. Let’s hope for healing and work toward unity in the months and years ahead.”

Neither "awkward" nor "provocative". And his response was hardly a "melt-down". (DB was looking for clicks with that headline.) He was simply reaching out. I've done it, you've done it. Who hasn't? Musk courts controversy, to be sure, and like his buddy Trump, he thrives on being the center of attention, but this was a spontaneous gesture of acknowledgment, a greeting...neither more nor less.

Not surprised that you are looking to simp for Musk. We all know what he did. It is on record. The man who is supporting the neo-nazi AFD gave a nazi salute.

However, meanwhile Project 2025 is being implemented at the state level to prop up white Christian nationalist fascist rule over America.

And this:

There are enough reasons to criticize and abhor the behavior of Musk and the rhetoric and policies of Trump than wasting energy on trivialities such as this. From Victor Davis Hanson's piece in RealClearPolitics this morning:

The Addicted, Petty, and Hysterical Left (Real Clear Politics; commentary by Victor Davis Hanson; January 24, 2025)

"Donald Trump won the 2024 election in part because the Left's hysterical style of attacking Trump no longer worked.

"After a decade of this unhinged furor, it proved worthless in winning public support -- and for two simple reasons.

[Quoted Text: Truncated]

The left is its own worst enemy. One of my oldest--from primary school--and best friends is a prominent member of the Socialist Worker's Party and publishes with its publication arm, Pathfinder Press. Everything that the right-wing Hanson wrote I've previously heard from him.

Hanson, by the way, has an excellent, pessimistic piece in The New Criterion on the complexities and contradictions of the Trump Agenda. I recommend it.

But just a reminder from a past post. They will all be coming for you and the ones you love too.

[Text: Removed]

Let's be clear here. Trump won because hundreds of thousands of Democratic voters didn't come out this time in key districts because they just couldn't vote for a black woman.

And Trump din't win a massive majority by any stretch.

And Americans didn't elect Musk, who now seems to be in control along with the other oligarchs.

This has nothing to do with anything other than a lot of people, [Text: Removed] voting for someone that they felt confident would hurt and hate the same people they do.

But now you have Project 2025 as the blueprint for a fascist oligarchy [Text: Removed]

Along the way though, stay the fuck out of everyone else's yard. Because along with fascism, the US appears to embark on a course of imperialist 'annexation' of other states.

This will inevitably lead to the ruin of the US.

The Felon in Chief strikes again to shore up his autocratic thugocracy.

The man who likely shouldn't have a security clearance cancelling the people likely most deserving of one.

President Trump did the right thing as soon they are going to be charged with election interference.

Meanwhile, Trump is still thirsty.

And of course, if wishes were horses all beggers would ride.

His EO really can't abbrogate the Columbia River Treaty and the reality is that Canada has very little impact on the flow of water into the system and the management of it in the US.

His stupid followers will think that there is some magical tap in Keenleyside or somewhere that regulates the total flow of water into the lower Columbia, with some kind of direct pipeline down through Oregon to California. The fact is...the infrastructure just isn't there and would require a massive project that would take decades to complete.

But his move shows that he is willing to steal resources of a neighbouring soveriegn country to offset the stupid resource management decisions the US has been making for decades.

In effect, it is a declaration of war.

And although it will immediately go into the courts, with Washington and Oregon also having a big say in having their natural fresh water systems drained to slake California's thrist...it will throw a huge wrench into the finaliazation of any updated treaty.

It will go nowhere, and no one will remember it after next week's outrage. We've all been here before.

Funny how the protege of the very homosexualist German immigrant Peter Thiel is able to so easily pin the blame on education.

Obviously, the Marshall Plan was wasted on his mentor.

We will likely be doing all of this again 80 years from now.

I think the slide into autocracy is complete if the people who pass the laws for funding don't understand that the statutes are laws...not just 'guidelines'.
