Rise of Fascism in the United States [SPLIT]

I think the slide into autocracy is complete if the people who pass the laws for funding don't understand that the statutes are laws...not just 'guidelines'.

What a bunch of sycophantic bullshit. It would be a law, and they would be tearing a hole in the space time continuum about it if Biden had impounded funds legally appropriated by congress. Fucking hypocrites. The law applies unless the law applies to them.

The WH Press Room has officially became the WH Politburo of Propaganda.

Trump's new propaganda minister, White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt announced at her first press conference that Trump will choose what news organizations will become accredited, and which reporters will be allowed to ask questions.

Up until today, traditionally the White House Correspondents' Association chose which outlets got what seats in the room, and the Associated Press, an international wire service of, by and for news organizations around the globe, asked the first question.

Leavitt told the reporters right up front, 'My team will review the applications and give credentials to new media applicants who meet our criteria and pass United States Secret Service requirements to enter the White House complex.'

She said this would include their pick of "independent journalists, podcasters, social media influencers and content creators".

And then, instead of the Associated Press, Axios' Mike Allen got the first question, followed by Matthew Boyle, the longtime political correspondent for Breitbart, the right-wing outlet that was previously led by Trump strategist Steve Bannon.

Leavitt has a FOX connection of course. She interned for Fox News and then worked under press secretary Kayleigh McEnany as an assistant press secretary during the first Trump administration.

But maybe not....so the case likely continues in court against the possibility that the memo would be re-activated....

rescinding the memo was to avoid court cases. The WH still plans on going ahead with the funding freeze; but, without the memo ](*,)

Thom Hartmann thinks they're planning to deliberately crash the economy. He is probably right.

I have suggested this for a number of weeks in different threads.

It is a way to strip everything form the middle and poor classes and for the super billionaires to buy up everything they don't already own at pennies on the dollar.

This was so true....among the House and Senate members and all the talking heads.

They all looked like what they are. Brainless, ass sucking idiots.

Have you actually gone to college?
Yes, but it doesn't make me better or worse than anyone else. Some professors support the harassment of Jewish students, I think they should be fired.
This would not be allowed against Blacks, or other minorities and Jewish students have a right to be safe on college campuses.

Do you have actual evidence of this?

Again, not the role of federal government.

And not relevant to the topic of the thread unless the Trump regime actually starts firing professors the way that other authoritarian regimes do.

I'm a bit puzzled with the right's love-hate relationship with Jews.

On one hand, the white Evangelical Christians and the Nazi groups still believe they killed Jesus and they operate secret cabals with space lasers and control the banks.

On the other hand, the business wing still wants the campaign donations. And the Christians want a Jewish homeland because Jesus will come back when the Jews are back in Israel.

And of course, the First Amendment is the most important, because we would never want the government to suppress free speech by American citizens, unless it's a university student or a college professor who questions the Israeli policies toward non-Jewish citizens of the State of Israel or a free speech rights of company that doesn't to underwrite Israel's stealing of land from Palestinians in the West Bank.

If you were to do a craniotomy on someone on the far right, their frontal lobe has gotta look like this:

As you point out...

The far right in America view the Jews in some sort of weird schizophrenic way.

Trump's 'Good People on Both Sides' on the side with the tikki torches screaming 'Jews Will Not Replace Us' seem at odds with the GQP Zionists, but it only underscores that at the moment, except for the Saudis bankrolling TrumpCo. and the oil states, right wingers still hate Muslims and Islam more than Jews.

So right now, they are happy to support the genocide in Gaza, because they love the thuggish far right wing regime in Israel. In large part because of the Book of Revelations.

But eventually, a far right wing christian nationalist government and MAGATs will turn on the Jews as socialist liberals who won't bend the knee to Trumpism. It is destined to happen.

Anti-semitism almost always follows fascism.

The federal government gives a lot of money to colleges, so the Department of Education does have a say on college campuses. Colleges that keep anti-American or pro-terrorist professors could easily lose funds. Rich private schools could also be excluded from research funds or government-backed loans for students.

It is the board of regents or governors who decide who can teach. Not the Government.

You are basically advocating for a fascist system where a Dictator would decide who can teach and who cannot.

It would be a simple step to forbid anyone teaching anything critical of a current regime from teaching.

The way that Hitler and his NAZI regime did. And then the Jews. And 'deviants'. The lucky ones escaped with their lives. many did not.

The US is already seeing what the NAZI Musk is capable of by getting rid of the head of the FAA because he was being fined for potentially endangering public safety. Imagine if this jack booted goose stepping thug or any other one of the TrumpCo. kakistocracy had a direct say in firing academics.

There are already procedures in place in colleges and universities to review and hire or fire the teachers.

But I don't expect far right wingers to grasp the concept.
