I have to say that the Army managed to make the entire thing hilariously boring by making it a history lesson about their vehicles over the
years and not even having kickass marching bands or soldiers marching in any kind of real formation.

The CBS News Face The Nation YouTube channel has the Minnesota press conference with Governor Walz reporting the capture of the assassin of the former Speaker and her husband. The MAGATs have swarmed the comments, blaming the governor for the murders, trying to argue that his hiring the guy as a state employee is somehow relevant to him becoming wacko and murderous.

Another satiric video has actual footage of the assassin in his religious fervor in Africa. Apparently murdering the innocent is a Christian Fundamental for him:

This story is getting more and more sinister.

This MAGA abortion-obsessed evangelical killed 4 people in Minnesota. He was thwarted from further murders by a police officer who took it upon himself to do a welfare check on the Hortman family. When he did so, he saw the suspect and the vehicle that he was driving. The evidence found in the vehicle included a list of other politicians that the suspect would have killed that night.

Nordan, a seasoned veteran of the Brooklyn Park Police Department, was about to head home for the night when he had a gut feeling he couldn’t ignore.

Years ago, Hortman, who served Speaker of the Minnesota House of Representatives from 2019 to early 2025, had reached out to the department for extra patrols. Nordan figured that Hortman would likely be concerned, and in search of additional security after hearing about the attack on Hoffman.

The "Duffy Directive" got overruled in court. It is a preliminary injunction but it is likely to be made permanent. It will probably be appealed up to SCOTUS.

Sec Sean Duffy had tried to block Federal highway dollars from going to [Democratic] States that the Trump Administration decided weren't doing what Stephen Miller wanted them to do on immigration. The judge just blocked Duffy from interfering with Congression appropriated money.

The Trump Administration cannot withhold billions of dollars in transportation grant funding from Democrat-led states refusing to cooperate with immigration enforcement, according to a ruling on Thursday.

Chief U.S. District Judge John McConnell in Providence, R.I., granted a preliminary injunction in the case filed by 20 states, saying "large-scale irreparable harm would occur without the preliminary injunction."

The Department of Transportation was unavailable for comment on the ruling late Thursday evening.
