This is something beyond shooting the messenger. It's creating a structure of "alternate facts".

The word "credit" has its origins in the Latin word credere, which means "to trust". The entire economy of investments is based upon giving money to another person with the trust that you'll get your money paid back.

Investors have continued to invest in American companies that aren't profitable because they trust that those companies will grow and their stock prices will continue to increase. They buy American treasury securities, in spite of the monumental deficits, because they believe the government will still redeem the security with interest.

When investors no longer believe the information coming out of government organizations like the Bureau of Labor Statistics, they will no longer trust America-based investments and they will take their money elsewhere. The only reason this hasn't happened is that the markets have convinced themselves that Trump always chickens out and he won't do things that will crash the economy. Eventually, they're going to wise up and start pulling their money out of American markets.

We've seen this before, We saw this with the decline and fall of the British Empire. WE saw this with the decline and fall of the evil Soviet Empire.

And now we see it with the collapse of all the 'values' and capital that propped up the US empire.
