Rise of Fascism in the United States [SPLIT]

This is bigger than just the obsession with deportations.

This is the State dictating to the Catholic Church, no less.

This is naked fascism. Christian country my ass.

Part of the reason that SCOTUS is voting the way they are voting is that the Court has been packed with conservative Catholics.

This is a case that should be put on the SCOTUS docket. Let's see if they put their "Freedom of Religion" for immigrants money where their anti-abortion, anti-LGBT mouth has been.

Thank his God that the Pope has spoken out on this.

After ICE refuses to allow detained migrants to receive the Eucharist, Pope Leo calls on Trump and Vance to respect migrants‘ dignity and religious liberty.

“They must allow ministers to assist with their needs. They've been separated from their families and no one knows what happens.”

As a Presbyterian aetheist...I believe that those who feel they need this rite should be guaranteed this rite.

To deny it is pure evil.

So this is basically a constutional crisis (again), as Trump tries to rule as dictator.

I get that the regime is dismissing the lower court rulings and that he is expecting that this will sail through the Roberts court...but this turnaround seems a little unhinged?

I think he is testing the court to see how much dictator shit they will let him get away with, and how the court pushes back on it.

Very likely the judge will find a responsible administrator (Treasury Secretary, USDA etc.) in contempt, and subject to arrest.

It's about to get rough. And it will quickly go to SCOTUS.

The Killer Sandwich Trial. The sandwich terrorist was Sean Dunn. The hapless victim of the sandwich assault was Customs and Border Patrol Agent Gregory Lairmore. Lairmore testified that he could "smell the onions and mustard".

No word on the cost of Lairmore's PTSD counseling.

It would be funny, if it weren't so Orwellian.

To laughs in the room, Lairmore walked the jury through the "baseball pitch" of a sub throw, as another witness put it.

Lairmore said he "could feel it through his ballistic vest" and it "exploded all over" him after the Subway stack hit him. He said he "could smell the onions and mustard" on his uniform, and even had an onion string hanging by his police radio later that night. The fast-food mustard, he said, stained his shirt.

Dunn's attorneys later pressed Lairmore on two gag gifts that his coworkers bought him after the incident, including a plush submarine sandwich and a "felony footlong" patch that Lairmore said he put on his lunchbox.

They also pressed Lairmore on why there are no evidentiary photos of stains on his shirt or of the sandwich after it was thrown, only a video posted to social media platform Instagram from a bystander showing the sandwich mostly intact. Lairmore said the Metropolitan Police Department in D.C. took over the investigation after Dunn was detained, and Lairmore said the sandwich appeared at least "bent and out of shape" in its wrapper.

^ It’s a story that comes across as satire. I bet guys like Lairmore get a lil woody in their pants when he puts his “ballistic vest” on.

So, we're told that drag queens and books are damaging to children.

What about this?

Video shows ICE agents grabbing childcare worker from inside Chicago preschool

Parents and local officials are outraged after two agents were filmed grabbing a preschool teacher in an ‘escalation’ of Trump’s immigration enforcement operations in the city

Viral footage outside a daycare facility in the northwest side of Chicago shows federal agents dragging an employee outside the building during an early morning arrest that has drawn outrage from parents and local officials.

Footage of the arrest, which reportedly happened in front of parents and children, shows two Immigration and Customs Enforcement officers aggressively pulling a screaming childcare worker from inside Rayito de Sol Spanish Immersion Learning Center and then pressing her up against an unmarked gray sedan parked outside the doors.

“I have papers,” the woman says in Spanish.

The woman, who is a prekindergarten teacher at the school, remains in federal custody.

The killer sandwich guy is found "not guilty".

Sandwichguy-1.jpg

Jury acquits D.C. 'sandwich guy' charged with chucking a sub at a federal agent
Sean Dunn faced a single misdemeanor after federal grand jurors refused to indict him on the felony charge sought by prosecutors.

Jurors showed no appetite for the Justice Department's case against "sandwich guy," the D.C. resident who chucked a Subway sandwich at the chest of a federal officer, finding him not guilty Thursday after several hours of deliberations.

The jury — which feasted on sandwiches for lunch Thursday, according to a person familiar with jury lunches — deliberated the charges for several hours Wednesday and Thursday before delivering the verdict.

Let's pause here for a moment and talk about what happened here:
  • The guy who threw the sandwich was fired from his job as a paralegal in the Department of Justice.
  • The Department of Justice spent millions of dollars prosecuting one of their own employees for a misdemeanor charge.
  • The prosecutor that the DOJ assigned to this case is an experienced prosecutor who had previously prosecuted high profile cases like the Benghazi attack. His job now is prosecuting someone who threw a sandwich.
  • Traditionally, the DOJ doesn't pursue cases it knows it won't win. That is why so many DOJ legal actions are settled before going to trial. It's also why the DOJ usually wins over 90% of the cases they take to trial.
  • The US Attorney for the District of Columbia is Jeanne Piro, former Fox News host. Spending this much of taxpayer money on a frivolous charge only to lose the case is another embarrassment for the Department of Justice and specifically, the US Attorney's office for the District of Columbia.

Millions of dollars are being spent by the Department of Justice on ridiculous investigations, performative prosecutions and pursuit of Trump's vendettas.

The Trump Administration will go down in history for its exorbitant amount of waste, fraud and abuse. The cost of the persistent golf trips will likely reach a billion dollars before the end of the 4 year term.

They will keep throwing it all at the wall to see what sticks.

Meanwhile...is the SC finally figuring it out?

Well, someone might want to play the Trump speech to SCOTUS where he says that if he gets the Big Beautiful Bill passed, we won't need Congress for 4 years.

SCOTUS helped create the monster. He's not going to need the Court system either if they don't fix the mess they created.
