Hi RM! I'm home after a long train ride! I took Amtrak's Floridian from Cleveland to Alexandria, Virginia. Spent a little while roaming around Old Town Alexandria, then took Metrorail to Union Station in Washington DC then the Northeast Corridor train to Philadelphia. Yes, the Floridian passes through Union Station en route to Alexandria. But the fare to Alexandria was lower than the fare to Washington?! And I like historic quirky Alexandria.

I’m okay and got to Scarborough, on the train, for the last time before Christmas. However, I am very concerned about something to do with our online safety bill. It looks like anyone in the UK may have to prove their age, in some way, before accessing a site like this one. I don’t drive, owing to the anxiety meds I take, so just hope they won’t ask for a drivers license. We have until mid March next year before it starts.

Rob, I know you love to feel your Mum's presence at the cemetery. I don't know why you couldn't sense it last time. But as for myself, I find that sometimes spiritual presences seem to go away when I start expecting them. It's almost as if they don't like it when they think I demand that they be there.

As requiring that you prove your age before accessing sites like Just Us Boys, I don't know how it is in the UK, but here in the States most driver's license offices will also issue IDs to people who are unable to drive for whatever reason. Some agency must issue IDs over there. Though in recent years in the states, they've started a Real ID program, where you usually have to show them an official birth certificate (not hospital issued). Which meant I had to pay something around $50 to some company to get a copy from the jurisdiction in which I was born. Somebody has quite a racket going there. But anyway, I would think you should be able to get some official ID in the UK, but they might require more than you just walking into the office and taking it on your word that you are who you say you are. It seems that most countries are getting restrictive with immigration and residency requirements these days, which unfortunately is also making it a pain in the butt for natural born citizens.
